I'd also love to get graphs and stats for:

Track lengths (in minutes).  1min, 2min, 2 1/2min, 3min, 3min 1/2min, 4min, 5min, > 6min  (bar graph)

What day submitted on

Hello all.

Here are links to a pretty hectic dice step-sequencer spreadsheet I made in case anyone else wants to use it.  ONLY CHANGE THE GREEN BITS!

Basically you configure the note / dice relationship, then fill in 16 numbers and put in a 0 if it's something that can also be an i/o state.  (a zero puts a note rest).  Eg.  you roll a Dice and get a 4, 5 then it falls off the little stool are rolling on so it's a "0".

Anyways - it's very messy and might not make total sense (the int value is there to compute the octave range for the auto tracker code!!).  Hopefully it might be of use to someone else other than me! :-P

http://syntaxparty.org/rockit8bit/DiceSequencer.ods  (for open office)

http://syntaxparty.org/rockit8bit/DiceSequencer.xls   (may also work in Excel, who knows!)

ps.  Just use sharps.  FLATS DON'T EXIST IN TRACKERS!

Nathan - you couldn't climb a mountain and tether your phone?!  Come on - if you get phone reception you can get GPRS or GSM data even in the country... yeah it's 9kbps (or slightly slower) but that'll do a 16 or 24kbps MP3 :-P  (although if ur on Vodaphone you are kinda screwed)

All else fails you can just jack into an external recorder.  I have to do that with my guitar effects program which doesn't allow VST integration.  A bit annoying having to pull a mem card out but the interface it came with doesn't have a stereo mix looback.

I didn't actually realize the ID3 tags stayed intact.  Last week I didn't even put an ID3 tag on the tune!  (I thought it was auto gen)  Thanks for the heads up.

REUPLOAD FEATURE?!! WHAT?  WHERE?!!

Mines done anyway.  Weird tune - not what I ever intended to write.  Started off as a hiphop thing then I just busted out my guitar (which wouldn't stay in tune) and busted some cheesy 80's rock harmonies on top for lols.  I'd already trashed one idea so starting something else wasn't an option.  Oh well!

Happy 13th people!

& Zeropass : Looking forward to it mate!!  First tune in LSDJ always a head screw.

My tracks suckin' dogs balls this week... anyone else having a "ehhh?" time?!  Could it actually be that 13 is an unlucky number after all?

(REALLY shouldn't have gone out and partied tonight)

Melbourne it'll now be 10am deadline.  Pshhhh.... Adelaide and their dodgy half our time difference!  (OMG, so accidental on the spelling, but such a pun!)

Wow - those cards look like fun

lol - I thought week 11 was next week.  Oh well.  As far as distinction of dub, I always grew up with it being the instrumental versions of deep regge tracks.  My King Tubby LP's and a number of my Impact / Groove Music 45s clearly state the "dub" versions of the tunes on their B sides.

This, to me, is dub: http://syntaxparty.org/rockit8bit/broke … vitive.mp3  (it was my high school listening)

I'm smashing around an Amiga track - it's kinda working but I'm stuck on the bridge section!  Really, this will be the Weekly release, and the album version will be tweaked I think...  oh, and I've hit that point where I'm actually releasing early versions of tracks I plan to release in the future - maybe even press to 10".  I just need to get productive at this point - so I'm having that "oh, is the netlabel going to care that I've released half the tunes already?" moment!
