i am mostly known for playing bass, but have played guitar much longer. didn't start til i was like 16 or 17, but been playing guitar for over 2 decades now. bass is more recent but i am better at it, i play bass kinda like a guitar with more chords and stuff than the usual bassist.

i also have a keyboard synth and can play percussion. am decent behind the kit, not the worst but not super good, intermediate at best i'd say. i can do free jazz stuff pretty well, harder for me to keep a regular beat, kind of a spazz behind the kit. been sequencing electronic music for nearly as long as playing guitar, so i'd say i'm only slightly more an instrumentalist. i played a hammond through a leslie speaker friday night and got some nice compliments about my keyboard playing, i'm starting to figure that out too. piano was my very first instrument. also have played trombone.

overall, i'm an experimentalist in whatever medium i can possibly get into, whether it's performance on instruments, in a sound studio, or doing visual art.

i continue to be in a lot of various projects, one that i began last year is sorta interesting http://ampyre.bandcamp.com droney industrial goodness with live vocal looping from an accomplished rock singer!

much of 2015 I spent working on recording this beast http://voltagecobra.bandcamp.com just straight up catchy high energy stoner rock such as qotsa, kyuss, helmet, black sabbath, motorhead, and more. was interesting self producing and getting it mastered to tape! found a guy on fiverr.com that will master to tape for $10 per track, called matrix audio.

i spent much of the year off from Sitari and electronic music, focusing more on live recording and more traditional band settings but am excited to get back into tracking this week!

43/52 for me, it was sure nice having time off at the end lol! got pretty busy at end of year. was creatively exhausted anyway. you can hear some of the stuff i made this year on my net label:

http://eidrecords.bandcamp.com including the first Sidesplitter full length. and i made another new sitari too:

http://sitari.bandcamp.com and of course my super out there psychedelic "jam" band, but I think we're more improv:

http://psychic-attack.bandcamp.com my two main bands, Vronk and Voltage Cobra, will have proper releases in 2015!

My kids expressed some alarm and disappointment that I might not be doing a new song each week in 2015.  And aside from people not always commenting, the community seems pretty strong here.

While the commenting has fallen off a bit towards the end of the year, I still have to say the WeeklyBeats community is much more verbose than what I've seen in most of the music world. It's pretty dead out there.

good point

yeah i was more into it in 2012 too. but i still have gotten a lot done because of it in 2014, it's a nice taskmaster if no one else is. i just have a backlog of work and am in so many bands now, and i just joined an analog synth band now. i'm just not gonna worry about posting something every week now. kinda liberating, but not. i dunno, yeah, it is, pretty liberating. no more assignments, turn something in as you will. yeah.
