Mine was finished as far as it went but needed polish for sure.

The songs are released all at the same time at the start of each new week which is about 22 hours at the time of posting. If you click on upload you should be able to see a timer?

fine for me to. Clear your cache maybe?

The Amen break is kind of a weird case copyright wise, as I'm sure you know! The admins are going to err on the side of caution copyright wise, if we see something which we feel is dubious we will probably take it down just to be sure. If you have a sample you think is in a bit of a grey area, I would advise again using it and play it safe.

Do you mean can you link to an offsite song with copyright content and have it count towards Weeklybeats? Or did you want to link to an offsite song just for discussion purposes?

Why only one submission / week?
It would be interesting if at the end of the week, everything each participant's came up with became available.

We did something which was more focused on volume here http://www.lazerscale2010.com/, this was a song a day for a year and it was really grueling but super fun. We decided to do something which was a bit more laid back but still geared towards regular production so we settled on one track a week!

Poppi this might be reassuring! The closest site I can think of to weeklybeats was http://www.lazerscale2010.com/ which seb and I participated in, the sample size was a lot smaller than weeklybeats but it was mainly chip people and there was a fairly wide range of styles and sounds. Even if weekly beats starts out chip heavy I would guess people will start to experiment a bit more as they go on.

Heh,I have a few genres I would LIKE to be able to pull off, if that happens or not is a hugely different matter. I LOVE Skweee, but I haven't managed to get that slinky minimalism right yet. I wanna try some LizardKing/Doskpop just for fun. It probably won't be happen but I would LOVE to be able to pull off some Betty Davis style bad ass funk. Also I love Tamala/Motown and Stax style soul, again, PROBABLY not going to be possible. Lastly, Minneapolis sound baby!

You know this is a really amazing coincidence my next Gameboy pumping house EP was going to be called "your gameboy has become part of your sonic circulatory system and your life force is oozing out to create a new cybernetic symphony of dystopian maximal that baffles even the mind of William Gibson" but I will have to think of something else now....

There isn't a maximum length but songs are limited to 16mb as a total file size, which is about 16 minutes at 128kbps.
