Scared hearted

Happy new year!

In recent years, I find myself flying into the new year feeling prepared. I'd at least have a list of resolutions ready to go.
This year, I don't feel the same. I sat on the grass this morning with friends discussing the year ahead and I realised I haven't put much thought into it yet.
I know recently I was intending to sit down and plan my weeklybeat goals at least, but here I find myself with no plan, and no goals.
I'm happy to roll with the punches.
I'm happy to trust my instincts and go with it.
I'm happy with how this song has turned out, based on following my nose and not second guessing decisions.
However, I can't help but feel I need some direction this year.
I'm in no rush.

where are you
my own oh
where are you
my own oh
where are you
my only one
where are you

keep me
waiting
I'm not ready for it
keep me
frustrated
I'm not ready for you
keep me
waiting
I'm not ready for it
keep me
waiting

there are you
my own oh
bared armed you
hold me
there are you
my only one
scared hearted

keep me
waiting
I'm not ready for it
keep me
frustrated
I'm not ready for you
keep me
waiting
I'm not ready for it
keep me
waiting

Wow, super strong opener. Really love the interplay between the guitars in here. The chorus is really catchy, I love it.

happy WB to all who celebrate

Love the chord progression in the chorus. Good luck with WB this year!

Wow - Didn't expect vocals!  Nicely done.  Love the tone of the electric in this.  Good luck this with WB this year smile

Woah! This is pretty great! Amazing job on the composition and vocals

heart real

Thank you all for all the kind words!! Wishing you all a happy weeklybeats!!! heart

Feels raw and polished at the same time. I can hear a noisy drumkit joining in at the peak. And yet the lack of it contributes to that sense of longing.

Killing it with the bass!

this is great. i was singing along and air-drumming by the last chorus. here's to a great 2026!

Thank you! I am famously drawn to pieces that lack drums, perhaps for this reason. Sometimes that lack of drums can change an energetic track into one that is edging towards something but never gets there.

Thank you! Really glad to hear you enjoyed it! Here's to a great 2026 indeed!

Yes, this is an amazing performance. Love it.

chorus sounds so good! love the harmony between the guitar and vocals and the laidback groove.

Awesome week one submission Tom Foolery. I know I’m late to the party on this one, but I’m stoked that you’re back for WB this year!

great buildup all the way thru the track! love the sound of the electric+acoustic and those little hooks. I'll enjoy binging your tracks again later in the year, both for the love of listening and out of curiosity to hear the development big_smile cheers!!!
