COOL GUITAR CHANELLY!

Also cool guitar on the song that is some fantastic twang! heart

Cute! This is such a cool track in its construction. That light clap-stomp combo with those sudden rich guitar strums thrown into the mix...just awesome stuff all around! Catchy melody too. heart

Fun lyrics.  Impossible not to smile to lines like "I didn't get too close, but he looked a little smelly" or "I'll probably end up with some cookies in my belly."  Love the guitar stabs as well.  This song is like sonic cookies.

I love the inspiration for this song. I love the artwork from Nelly! Great lyrics on this one jwh! And that guitar work around 1:20 and then again from 2:00 on out is fiiiine! Actually, just the whole thing man, is fine! wink

Love the drawing and love the sound of the guitars heart  The deep bassy parts on the main riff is so infectious. Also impossible not to sing along to the main line. Vocals are awesome and love how they're panned and eq'ed so nicely.  Ooof yes those crunchy bassy notes get better and better. The chords on the guitar solo too heart fav'ed!

Cookies in my belly, best line of the great song

Very cool song, vocals and guitars sound so good. May we all end up with cookies in our belly. smile

Dude, love what you did with the claps in this... the processing and how it evolves, the reverses... super fun track.  I have NO idea how to count it, but I love it.

Can't tell what I love more, that picture or the song heart

Those claps and reversed claps are so cool.

Well done!

Pure joy. Favorited.

Geeez, amazing production, song is a banger. The backwards elements, minimalism, space, so tasteful with a great build. 🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇

thank you!realized i should probably share the full color version too:

Cute AF ^^

A great song for a great images. Love the claps

Dude I love this! At first glance it seems like a simple one-take recording with all the charm of a one-take hit, but then the other elements are weaved in so expertly, and there's this playful reversing of samples... I cam get really lost in this. I had to think of Dijon's "Big Mike's" but as a one-guy-in-a-cabin version like a less depressed Bon Iver.

Very very tasty. Oh man, I love your delicious guitars.

this absolutely rules heart

really cool bouncy rhythm it's got so much charm! almost in the vein of like marc bolan singing it's sick!

also; that picture is so so cute!

That guitar solo is smelly

Love the production on this

Wow i love this!! What a cool production, was really surprised when the reverse sounds came in, so many cool changes in this. Super engaging and pleasant to listen to!

WHOA! What a vibe!!! Chanel-anelly instant classic lyric! no idea what it is, just has that je ne sais quoi!

omg the guitar solo!!! such use of space and groove! great intonation great vocals everything about this is awesome!

cuteness overload, now I read about the guitar and all! your family is DAMN CUTE, best wishes to you all!

This is full of good feelings

Love the tone and playing of the guitar fills. And the hand percussion. As usual, you make it seem effortless. Great job.

This rules. Chanelly is so cool.

I always always love how you play. Great stuff!

I heard Chanelly likes to... draw! and she does a hekking good job at it!
Adorable little track you got here, jwh, and that guitar sounds amazing.

same

such great guitar sounds, and I love the reverses and the clap-based beat!

sounds great as usual, well done!

This is amazing!

Cool guitar, the both of you.

Channelly at the party! With cookies and stuff. Love the effortless confident feel of this one.

Also apropos nothing, that guitar picture resembles a treble clef.

Very cool track, sounded amazing! Nicely done

That picture is so wonderful, how adorable!

I like how restrained the guitar playing is on this, it feels like there's a whole lot of energy that's held back just waiting to burst through! Another great track!

Sounds like channelly has some attitude! And drawing skills! Such a fun song. The breaks and twists keep me on my toes, but in a good way

Aww too cute. What a nice homage.

Hooked me right away, so sweet response and gift to chanelly who draws a cool guitar. Dig you production on this, keeps interest. Coooookies!

I don't know why, but this like really got to me, hahahaha...
Amazing, man. I don't know how you do this, but your music is often able to simultaneously put a huge grin on my face while also getting me a little bit emotional.
I think it might be because i sense a profound feeling of vulnerability and soul I what you do, which is just immediately touching to me.
Anyways, keep up the great work, dude.

Thank you for another wonderful track, great catchy vocals and love that ending with the reversed claps?

Nice Wilco-esque track (maybe better!), great job!

so uplifting! makes me feel like this:

no wait(that last one was a mistaken giphy search for 'chanelly'), i meant more like this:

...no wait, maybe more like this:

or like this:

really love the clap usage, too

cool off/on production style for this peace!  also really like the album art format you are doing

Outstanding minimal groove, great lyrics, perfect economy, and some Tom-Verlaine-tier soloing! Beautiful, life-giving work here.

faved! love how open and emotional it sounds

Man, you're killing it this year. Another great track. Sorry I'm late to catching up! What I love with your tracks so far is that they *feel* quiet. Like, the mix is plenty loud enough, but the way you sing and way the instruments feel distant makes those dynamic shifts more powerful and the overall feeling is really relaxed. Kind of reminds me of Beck, in practice, whenever he did stripped down albums. Beck is one of my favorite artists, so I intend that as a high compliment wink

ahh, thank you so much. i really appreciate you going back to listen to these past weeks, and so thoughtfully at that.
i love what you said here about the tracks feeling quiet. not that this is unique to me, but i often experience listening to music as an embodied space (especially when wearing headphones). sometimes — like with some of yours or neon liminal's or rdomain's or emily's or or or etc etc — it is a vast space like a hall or even an immense outdoor space. but for whatever reason when i'm recording/ mixing, i'm often drawn to creating or capturing smaller spaces. i used to be self-conscious about that, but at some point i realized that that was silly. we need all kinds of spaces during our lives!
*this could lead to a whole discussion about reverb, but i should probably just leave it as this:
thank you for hearing me. it means a lot. heart
oh - and i very much appreciate that Beck comment. it's funny, he keeps coming up this week. i was listening to Stereopathetic Soulmanure the other day, i love that one so much. also big on One Foot in the Grave, Odelay, Mutations, and various other songs. so yeah, thank you!
