Saloon Redoubt Ramble

Took inspiration from an old simple piano riff I'd put down in FL Studio around 14 years ago. After setting up the flolw, I decided to add some twang to the piano after I found the ye olde tyme guitar pluck to add a bit of the western bar feel.

But man, I could not get it balanced or get it to punch the way I wanted. Time to actually learn how to mix and not just write!

that's the best - when you find something stashed away for a long time, and then it can give new life to you, and then you give new life to it. the guitar twangs are awesome on this one, along with the beat. i can feel the low end on the kick which is nice. if you wanted the kick to punch more, i think you can pair it with a kick that has a quicker transient that will punch through the low end and have more of a "click" kind of sound to it, while then keeping the smooth low end of the softer kick. and yes - mixingsohard - awesome one overall though!

Piano beats from ye ol' west, and still sound nice.
