i admit that i skip tracks on here if they don't captivate me within literally the first few second of the track. i don't have the time to listen to every track but i at least give each one a chance.

Oh yeah, I do that too.

Yes. I hardly ever listen to new (or old) music. Not because of music fatigue though, just because I can't really be bothered and want to ENJOY listening. I go through WB each week, but that's usually it. And even then I tend to only go through my favourited folks.

Check it out. Mostly made up of WeeklyBeats stuff, with one (substantial) piece that is not. For those who wanted more of The Great Unhearing, this is it.

Use the Wilhelm scream.

Depends on what I am doing and how much time I have. Lately I've been putting in about 10-40 minutes start to finish (after conceiving of the idea itself). But other times I've spent probably 10-15 hours, or more.

Still haven't had a chance to listen to these recommendations, but I thought I'd throw out a few of mine:

Faux Foe
Jim Wood
Tate Carson
Stefano D'Alessio
Colorful Grey
Home Taping Association
Spacey Tree
rdomain
sylcmyk
Lyons
cTrix (though he seems to have dropped off now)
little-scale (same)
Poppi (also dropped off)
Mr Mort
Perplex On
george bowles
ipaghost
kineticturtle
Plantrain
Chris Dotson
An0va

Others… and of course that's not to say I like everything these folk do!

Thanks everyone. A lot of the suggestions are ones I already listen to, which is not that surprising given their quality! But over the coming week I'll have a listen to all the recommendations that I'm not familiar with. Cheers! And keep them coming!

That's really not a very glowing endorsement. Plus I imagine you spend your week generating upload codes. wink

Hi.

So due to life being busy and whatnot, I sometimes get a chance to listen to my favourited arteests, but rarely branch out from there. So I was hoping that as many people as possible can recommend me an artist that they enjoy on here, on a regular basis. Maybe then I can grow my "regular listening" list.

Cheers.

Yeah I haven't had time for a few weeks now. Sorry cats.

195.63 songs, how many non-songs? wink

This is the second year I've done this (last was 2012) - main thing I'm getting this time is that I'm prototyping stuff that I'll use later on - systems of performance, composition, and so on. And often I whip it up at the last minute as an excuse to just do SOMETHING.

Paul - great stuff, and you're welcome.

Rockin' it. Much better than 2012. I'm going for the full 104. That is the point, after all.

Lovely idea. I won't do it, but it's a lovely idea.

I find it really weird that music is "academic wankery" if there is some hypothesis/theory involved: i.e. serialism. How that falls into academic wankery is well beyond my comprehension, but there you have it. I guess I am, in fact, an academic wanker!

Yes, many congratulations on your child! What an effort.

I'm really excited about my track this week, and I like what I'm hearing! It's all downhill from here though, 'cuz we've got a baby coming any day now...

No excuse! Imagine the potential for recording obnoxious screaming, burping and other child functions, then creating hyper-abstract works!

Congratulations!

Yeah, the last couple of weeks have been really great. Well done, everyone.
