I'm pretty sure my track this week is terrible. But this is the first track I have tried making with LSDJ, so... i guess it is to be expected?

Screw labels. I just wish there were some kind of community that really promoted skill growth.

I just want to say: improving one's own music quality is sometimes the biggest bullshit process. Seems like it is very difficult to get any REAL "listens" and CC without already being a fucking fantastic musician. I also think that my own music is pretty bad for the most part.. (despite rigorously trying to improve and make more emotion evoking sounds).  But it seems to me that is a VERY common outlook for a composer, even some of the highly talented ones I have spoken too.    But let me put this into perspective, I am new, and I have NEVER done any live show, so I expect people like me to feel under-accomplished. I guess It just surprises me that people who do live shows all the time feel like they suck. If I ever get into live shows, I will feel very good about myself... thats all I'm sayin'.

http://weeklybeats.com/#/forums/topic/5 … something/

Phil harmonic actually states in this thread that the original poster (PWR) may remix any of his tracks from weekly beats. Is that not written permission? Furthermore, It is very likely that Phil_harmonic actually cut those specific vocal clips and gave them to PWR for that purpose.

4 notes sounds like a ton of fun.

this week seems to be slightly higher quality than normal also.. or at-least, from my perspective.

Hey if you would like to remix and of my weekly beats submissions, let me know I can cut each part into wav's pretty easily.

Yeah Phil, don't feel bad dude.. I think most of us know what it is like to get 0 comments. I really wish that this site had a person to host a scheduled listening party. but alas, I desire too much.

TL;DR -  What is it that causes everyone to say garage band sucks exactly?

I think everyone here is familiar with people saying "garageband sucks" and "garageband messes up sound quality" and stuff like that. I am just curious if there is really any validity to those comments, and if so... What is the exact reason that garage band produces lower quality than other audio programs? Like, is the program somehow handicapped? or is it just user's using the default options in the program that cause the sound quality to be worse?

The main reason I ask, is because I am looking for the motivation to start learning ableton live.. so I can switch, and possibly make higher quality music...   But I will really need a reason at this point, because I know garage band pretty well, and I have it all setup with a lot of custom instruments... Whereas on ableton I will be starting from scratch, and its a bigger/ more complicated program, that I have only about 5 hours of experience with.

awessssommmme I am checking this out for the sure. you rock man
