Short and sweet this week. Thanks for the overwhelming praise from last week. I'm *technically* uploading this on Sunday but it's still Saturday night for me, so kind of uploading a day earlier than usual so I can CHILL.

When I sign the dotted line
Would you promise me you’ll be forever mine
Sometimes, I dream of paling light
From that day we laid beneath the burning sky

So, it’s been a super duper busy week this week. Increased workload at my job (for the time being, started a new analysis), went to go see Sleepytime Gorilla Museum on Thursday, helped out family on Friday, installed a new dishwasher on Saturday and fixed some baseboards, and probably some other stuff I’ve forgotten about.
However, I did still try to keep my Monday-Friday goal for song writing. It mostly worked out, I’m again finishing the song on Saturday but I did find the general concept of the song on Wednesday (I think). Between work meetings I was noodling on my acoustic guitar and came up with this super simple progression and I hummed a melody. It occurred to me that the idea itself could function as somewhat of an interlude type of song, just something that occupies like a minute and a half of time and stand on its own that way, and I really liked that idea. And it also suited my needs considering I didn’t think I could put a ton of time into my song this week. My thought process for writing was get the acoustic guitar down, get the vocals and lyrics down, and then the song is done enough for submission. Anything extra I wanted to add is a bonus but not necessary.

Just a small clip from the Sleepytime Gorilla Museum concert. This is one of their more iconic live performance moments where they play an instrumental tune where everyone shouts AMBUGATON at the big moment.
(first time I'm trying to use the youtube bbcode embed, so here's the link if it didn't work)
This was really nice! I think I know the inspiration behind the lyrics, but I could be wrong I suppose. Very nice and dreamy. I like the airy quality to the vocals. Well done!

Steven Wilson would approve! That guitar's straight from the "In Absentia" period. Now, what would come after 1:36 would be heavy drums and the signature distorted single-string riffs. Yeah.

It may be short, but it sounds really nice and creates an inviting mood. While it would definitely work as a breather between a couple of longer, heavier songs on an album, it stands on its own as well.

The Saturday upload cutoff sounds like a solid plan. I've gotten similar advice before and might try it if I can get enough of a head-start one week to keep it up. Are you finding it easier to break up the work throughout the week in a certain way?
Short and sweet indeed - with emphasis on sweet. :D

I really like the Shoegazy, Dreampopy vibe here. The vocal sit really nicely in the mix, and the main arp on the guitar creates great forward moment. I definitely wish it was longer, but it's a jam at any length.

This is a soothing and beautiful lullabye of a track. The bass fills the rest of the mix so nicely combined with the guitar, vocals and synths. Nice work!

Nice vibe on this track. I like that pure synth line from 0:36, just works perfectly with the acoustic guitar and the vocals. And I like how the guitar on the right takes over after the synth. This track feels like a moment between moments, like when you're sipping a coffee in a highway resting area at 3am during a long car trip.

Positively dreamy, guitar and vocals both killing it here. Floating away from the first acoustic notes. Feels like a perfect interlude track, something comparatively heavy/punchy after on an album would be sick.
