As Gods Fall From the Sky

By rdomain on April 7, 2024 8:03 am

This originally was going to be a huge industrial beat piece but I kept improvising with the sounds after I faded out the beat part and really liked what came out so I decided to work with that.

The main tone is the Lyra 8 into the Sherman Filterbank with some Reverb from the Eventide H9.  I then improvised to that recording using Olafur Arnalds Evolution as the sound source along with some processing in the box and this was the result.

Enjoy.

Thanking you and yes, very true.  Hehe.

really beautiful piece, love the tone and textures.

I can imagine how it would have worked well with a huge industrial beat as well, but appreciate your decision to put these sounds front and center and let them stand on their own -- nice work.

Beautiful. I really most enjoy when someone uses the Lyra in a transformative way (and not just a noise machine) and still preserve its character, and this piece is one of the best examples. Especially those low tones, the saturation there is THICK. Gorgeous.

On a side note I've had a number of heavy industrial attempts involving the Lyra fall back into something decided not industrial like this, sometimes the Lyra decides and that's that lol.

Man this is an entrancing track... I'm not really sure why... but it's got a powerfully hypnotic quality to.  The sound design through out is fantastic.  (((((っ-_-)っ

Thanks everyone!  I'll have to admit I really liked how this track turned out myself!  Thanks for listening.
