Pax Americana (WB10)

Been dwelling on world events lately..

Fiddled around with some percussion but decided to keep it guitar, bass and vox. I recorded all the harmonies before I heard the vocal recording playbacks and chopped them together with whatever kinda worked. Another rough and dirty mix but it gets the job done.

Lyrics:

Are you safer now with or without it?
If you've done nothing wrong you've no reason to doubt it.
Is a cage still a cage when its the size of a continent?
When what's been screened out wont let people think twice of it

Is tranquility at the tip of a nuclear submarine
Worth the price of complacency?

Are you safer now with or without it?
If you've done nothing wrong you've no reason to doubt it.

Is tranquility at the tip of a nuclear submarine
Worth the price of complacency?
Is tranquility at the tip of a nuclear submarine
Worth the price of complacency?

I love the wholesome feeling vibe, even if the subject matter kinda isn't.

The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind. I dig it.

WOW. Such an extraordinary song. It should leave the border of weekly beats and go out to the ears of the whole world. You did an awesome job. Love the layers of your voice singing incredible beautiful.

great song, just utterly depressing

all the vibes of the great protest music, great sentiment and effort

heart heart thank you for this! I am considering how I want to bring my songs to the bigger world. Been using weeklybeats as a chance to workshop some of my songwriting and recording techniques before I take another swing at the ones that are worth another swing smile The voice layering is something I'm trying to get right without relying on autotune or pitch correction. It's hard to know what imperfections come out sounding like character and which ones come out sounding like crap. thanks for the vote of confidence!
