Hodge Podge

By Saguaro Gigante on July 10, 2022 11:55 pm

Another speed run tune! Brainstormed some ideas for an hour yesterday and then picked it up again today with a few hours to go before the deadline. Not too sure what to say about this one, haven't really heard the whole thing from start to finish really. Just finished it up with about 15 minutes to spare. I do like most of the pieces in here, would probably like to revisit this one in the future perhaps.

Great collection in interconnected riffs. Got some feel good rock, some grunge, some opethian vibes, and that last riff really dives into the proggy deep end. Perhaps from your perspective it's a hodge podge of ideas but the whole thing has a consistent trajectory.

I love those songs that are too fast to remember and then the next day you are like, "Who snuck in here and wrote this?"

That big chord change for the slowdown is really nice and refreshing.  You go from driving, to slow tempo, to then start-stop.  Very cool.

Meandering, but maybe it's like a "riff mix tape" smile

very nice

It's really good start to finish

I like the jangly feel of the main intro rhythm bit. Recorded in a nice way that moves nicely. Unexpected and beautiful change you go into. Great soloing as always.

That riffin style that comes in 2:37. It goes from like galactic to devil n dirty. Cool shit
