Parachute Dream

Another one from the surf camp. Very little time as I've been surfing twice a day for the last 7 days but we strung this one together on Sunday. Made on a little mini keyboard and iPhone mic. I used an 808 and mixed on headphones so I’m not liable for anything under 100 Hz.

Was quizzing the coach about the currents on this reef since it was bigger, they were kinda heavy, and I was worried about getting stuck inside. He said "you need to trust yourself, you will make it to the channel" and that was the theme for the week.

Hook is trash, was the last thing I wrote. Made myself do it but probably would have been better without.

They also play "Bongo Bong" on the radio every day here and I hadn't heard it. I feel its a banger so I channeled that style.

My goal is to write better lyrics this year so I've been following the process and frameworks from Writing Better Lyrics by Pat Pattison.

sweet! favorite line is definitely "If you cling to the sky, it will pull you to the ground"

I quite like the "dub" vibes there. A smartphone and you are good to go! Very cool that you did bring a mini midi keyboard.

Surfing twice a day sounds very fun but quite exhaustive!

I like the track. Well played.

the vibe feels very accurate to yr current setting! nice work on the lyrics, I'm not familiar with Pattison.

"I used an 808 and mixed on headphones so I’m not liable for anything under 100 Hz" haha, love it

nice work. I never write any lyrics but this inspires me to try in a future week and look up the Pattison book or course too.

omg... It does sound like Bongo Bong and Gorillaz!!

I love the Reggae vibe of it, especially the big basses (but I'm a little biased towards those).

Well done!

Very chill. Somehow put the idea of Leonard Cohen on surf-vacation into my head drinking mai-tai's with Tom Waites. I might be insane.

feelin those gorillaz vibes with the slick reggae progression.  Such a chill sound and excellent lyrics.  well done!

Great job with the lyrics. Consistently good throughout. Don't be too hard on the hook. I think it works.

Like the vibe, I'm bobbing. Cool you're surfing, sounds fun. Sky surfing could be fun too. Good lyrics. Inspire me to write some, should check out that book. Yes Bongo Bong and Gorillaz, good stuff. Cool you made on phone, always a challenge I think.

Love the reggae feel!

I can definitely hear the King of Bongo inspiration! I dig the vibe.

Nitpick: the vocals in the chorus too quiet.

Chill bit of dub, very nice.
