Parachute Dream

Another one from the surf camp. Very little time as I've been surfing twice a day for the last 7 days but we strung this one together on Sunday. Made on a little mini keyboard and iPhone mic. I used an 808 and mixed on headphones so I’m not liable for anything under 100 Hz.
Was quizzing the coach about the currents on this reef since it was bigger, they were kinda heavy, and I was worried about getting stuck inside. He said "you need to trust yourself, you will make it to the channel" and that was the theme for the week.
Hook is trash, was the last thing I wrote. Made myself do it but probably would have been better without.
They also play "Bongo Bong" on the radio every day here and I hadn't heard it. I feel its a banger so I channeled that style.

A song about trusting yourself. Aesthetically inspired by "Bongo Bong" by Manu Chao and "Clint eastwood" by Gorillaz
I think I want to center it around falling when skydiving. First, the feeling of falling, then, trust in the parachute as a metaphor for trust in oneself

Aloft and floating yet falling fast. Everything rushes by. The sound of nothing in particular yet everything around you is deafening. A tiny slice of local control is offered amongst the inevitability of descent. Everything gets closer and closer all at once.
Yet, the only way out is back down. Up is not an option. After commitment, you must follow through. Float and navigate wherever needed, then pull the cord. The entier affair is built around trust in that cord. A decision was made to take an almost certainly fatal leap in the absence of the parachute successfully deploying. It was checked, inspected, etc. All the preparation that could be done was done, the only thing left was to leap. Then, after leaping, the only way to go is to fall.
