First haiku of the year, check! big_smile

One of my goals for this year was to get some practice working in heavier, more aggressive styles. And I guess I've been gravitating toward that kind of music lately anyway. This is definitely going to be a new journey for me, so any and all tips and feedback are appreciated. Thanks everybody, and Happy Week 2!

DUDE I'M LOVINGGGGG ITTTTT!!!!!
It's so cool to hear this style of yours that I've always loved going in this heavier direction. It sounds so good. I love that melody at the 30 second mark in particular. 2024 is going to be awesome.

Dang what a change in direction from last week!

The variety in the guitar arpeggios is cool and serves as a nice backbone to the track. I'd say, when going heavy, when you come back full velocity around 1 minute, take the drums down to halftime! Really draw out the power of the track. Maybe some big accent hits and / or stops between the guitars and the drums?

Either way look forward to hearing more!

What a bomb jam! Nice work smile

Killing it! At home in a jrpg as the big bad throws the concept of malice at you in the form of icy fireballs idk i dont play jrpgs

Even though we didnt finish that other collab hahaha we should definitely make a miku post-rock track

Absolutely rockin'! The cymbal rhythm was the first aspect that popped out as unique but serves the song so well. I'm also noting (and enjoying) your use of bells again which I'm not used to hearing in this style, but again they feel right here. Searing guitars as well, everything plays off each other so well. Way to go!

got the weeklybeats running in the background and felt the urge to comment the second this came on. love the tone

high energy! love the bells!

very triumphant

This I call an official weeklybeat. Love the drums.

very cool vibe

Whoa, strong intro.

Diggin the darker aggressive tone.  The beat and guitar really take off and the bells gave me those dark necromancer visions.  Def explore this new territory of yours more.  \m/

Nice one, I love the poppiness of the drum beat. I wanna hear more!

your tracks have such an uplifting vibe, great stuff

Coool:)

Anthemic and huge. I like the bells, chime sounds. Drums punching through so well. The necromancer will do excellent necromancery with this theme! Nice haiku!

Nice work dude, here and on SVMP!

That's an awesome guitar tone you got there! Great mix. The organic feel of the whole piece complements the epic "movie theme" vibe.

omg this new look for you is so rad

I'm so glad to hear that! I'm definitely crossing my fingers for artistic growth this year - I'll do my best. And yeah, 2024's off to a great start on WB. People are doing such cool work already! (Case in point, I've been enjoying your tracks a ton!)

Thanks for the feedback! Great tip too - I'll keep it in mind going forward. Looking forward to hearing more of your stuff as well!

Sounds pretty on-point for an rpg battle to me! I've never been great at writing battle themes, but I definitely want to change that this year. And I'd definitely love to collab on a post-rock miku track this year too!

Thanks so much! It's a new genre for me, so I'm glad to hear the arrangement worked out okay. It's funny, I guess I gravitate toward tubular bells a lot in my tracks without realizing. Glad to hear they seem to fit though!

Thanks so much! Your tracks have really stellar vibes (I listened to "Informal System" from 2020 on repeat regularly when it went live (still do)), so that means a lot to hear.

Thanks! Though I should mention that the guitars were actually a VST called Evolution Infinity made by Orange Tree Samples, so all credit for the guitar tone goes to them. Either way, I'm glad to hear the track turned out okay!

Thanks so much! Glad to hear it. If I can help it, I really want to expand my range this year.

That'd be amazing! I'm not much of a performer, but it could be neat to find a way to get a three-person collab of some kind together. big_smile

THIS IS UNFAIR OH MY GOD SO HEAVY OUT OF THE GATE. And the vocal arp + bells!! This is transporting me to a fucken incredible bossfight. You're killin it!!!

God damn dude this just goes so hard, I had to come back and listen to it again, haha.

I noticed you were going in a very different direction, and I very much approve
It seems to be the same direction we're going and I'm really glad this is where it's going

me too and i'm seriously considering trying to cover this song

WB: "Drew sucks, we support him but he never listens and comments on anyone's tracks."

Drew: "Nah fam, I'm literally listening to Necromancer's Theme for the 6th time."

WB: "o sh*t that track slaps"

Drew: "i kno rite???"

WB: "we forgive u"

I'll allow it, just this once. tongue
Hehe, seriously though, thanks for the follow-up comment! I'm glad to hear this has some kind of staying power.

Yeah, this does seem to be a year of change for people across WB. Then again, I guess we're always changing at least a little. At any rate, I'm excited to see where we'll both go with our music! big_smile

No pressure, but if you did, I'd love to hear it!

Hehe, I can empathize. I get caught up listening to a lot of your tracks on loop as well!

I guess this song really does keep bringing people back! tongue Seriously, it means a ton that you're enjoying it. Thank you!

Love the guitar on this, very epic with the bells.  Great mix too, very tight low end.

Something tells me the Necromancer and the Moon Baron are one in the same.

Thanks! As for the necromancer and the moon baron, we'll see. big_smile It's been fun treating WB like a storytelling exercise this year.

Right out of the gate you've got a really good sonic texture. I'm really enjoying this more aggressive style. Was just about to say I hope to hear more of the guitar and right on cue it shows back up in the second half. Really captivating sound. Nice work!
