OPM6

By mw1618 on January 9, 2024 5:26 pm

I'm currently working on a new album. Normally my music is composed of 80% sounds I create with my gear and 20% samples I grab from libraries like Splice. For this album I am flipping that around to 20% me / 80% others.

OPM stands for Other People's Music which is both influenced by the heavy use of samples and a creative departure from the usual vibe of my songs.

This particular track is built around a piano sample that really stuck out to me. I love the lo-fi grit that it imparts to the overall track texture. As with most of my tracks, I try and weave the feeling of traditional instruments like piano and guitar, with the more modern sounds of hardware synths and effects pedals.

Hope you like it!

Thanks! I'm glad you found it relaxing. I try to make music that can fit in the foreground OR the background.

Thanks! I just looked up Made in Abyss and agree the vibe could fit together well. I've always dreamed of making soundtracks to animated films.

Thank you. I'm glad you liked it. The inspiration for this track was very personal so I'm glad some of those emotions came through.
