Pants-Killer

By ineff on January 11, 2026 11:58 pm

Made for the Saturday night open mic at MAGfest's Chipspace, where I ripped a hole in my jeans performing it.

100% made and mixed on a Dirtywave M8 Tracker

Chiptune so sick it literally annihilated your pants while performing. I hope my pants survive.

Henceforth bangers like this shall be known as pant rippers

I saw the hole by the way. It's all true

Just like SpongeBob. big_smile

Seriously though, this set sounds awesome!

Aw man, I'm just 45 secs in and already loving it... Chiptune is definitely the right way to my heart!
Oh  snap, we going up in tempo are we? Niiiice!
Oh maaaaan, when the higher pitches come in at 1:55 I just wanted to jump out of my bed and dance!
YEEEESSSS!!!
Also, if it's worth anything, I'm also wearing ripped pants. Granted, they're just old pj's, but still. Ripped pants. Hahahaha...
Seriously stellar work here, dude. Wish I could witness this live! Maybe I'll be able to make it to the next magfest.

this is so good im scared for my pants too!!!!!

Who needs pants anyways...

Luckily I just got up when I decided to listen to some WB tunes this morning and I hadn't put on my pants yet.  I don't think they would have made it.  Especially when things really start taking off around 1:52.

I met you at the VDJ seminar. Nice to listen to some of your work here. I enjoyed the legato section but I think this track really expands at the glitch section along with the retriggered arpeggios. That’s the moment when I perked up. There’s a lot of evolving portions of this track. I could imagine this expanding into a long live set without that much work simply by spending a bit more time on each section as there’s a lot of changes going on, almost medley like. Nice job, hope that your Chipspace set went well! Sorry that I wasn’t there in person.

I was there!  I was present for the jeans rip of 2026!  Awesome track

as if i wasn't experiencing enough Mag FOMO hahaha. insanely fun track

If sacrificing the integrity of my pants is the price of admission here then I say it's worth it. That 2:20 section lead brings me RIGHT back to pirated Amiga game intros of the early to mid-1990s.

I appreciate the programming required to make those leads so sleek and varied across the board. You packed a lot of expression there with slides, velocity, filtering and panning variation that makes it sound really organic. My Osmose is blushing.

No notes, five stars.

ooof when the beat kicks in! \m/ love those arpy leads. Oooh hell yais the melody lift off midway.  Such awesome energy throughout.

joke's on you, I'm not wearing any pants
Tight beat tho, and sweet arps, perhaps for the best I don't
- Ebrit

picks up at 1:55, don't jam too hard you will lose your shirt next time. 4 on the floor fun.

Mmm, so soulful.

Percussion work is great.

RIP pants. I can hear them coming apart at the seams. Maybe could have been cool to try some kind of left and right panned harmonies on the main saw pad lead thing.

Chonky on the tail half!

You and n_ron were on a wavelength this week for sure! rip pants

pants simply weren't made for this kind of music

Those super dusty padlikes (around 1:00) are omfg so so so so many exclamation signs! This is crazy crazy good, love the build up, insanely good work throughout. Imma hit you up on Discord to ask for the bundle (will never sample nor use any instruments without permission, just next-level designs and I must learn how things are made!) heart heart heart, most sincerely! (The end is brilliantly executed, too)

Jealous af, future goals to see ineff play sometime.

A fellow chip tune enthusiast.

There are so many people rocking the M8 I'm starting to feel like I need one. I'm a lover of the Polyend Tracker, but if the M8 can burst your pants clearly I need one.

The restraint you showed at the beginning really paid off at the 1.52 mark, that kicked so hard.  Very nice work

love that breakdown @ 2:45ish, and then the big end build w the cat leads MEEEOOOOWWWW
nice slow down collapse too at the end!

pants are overrated anyway
heart

This is a big ol' slab of chiptune awesome right here! I really like hearing the M8 used for super chippy stuff.

Love the expressiveness in the leads. So much goodness going on in this one!

Dungarees spontaneously disintegrated

next level M8 crazyness!

The story of this track's name is almost as good as the track! Amazing chip work as usual!
