I thought I'd put it here instead of it getting lost into another conversation.
Is this possible to implement? I would prefer my music to not be available for download, just for listening online on weeklybeats.com
Weeklybeats is a 52 week long music project in which artists compose and publicly release 1 song a week for the entire year.
Starting December 29th 2025 GMT each participant will have one week to upload one finished composition. Any style of music or selection of instruments are welcomed and encouraged.

if you don't want your stuff to be in the torrents, make sure you submit it as copyrighted, I've made absolutely 100% sure copyrighted songs are not in the torrents.
Yeah I read that now, but I had no idea the torrent was a thing. I don't come into the forums unless I have a problem I need solving.
So it's no good for what is already out there, it's in the torrents already because I probably released it with a CC license. I never uploaded stuff here with the intention of it being redistributed and I am quite upset that it was but it was my damn fault too.
In any case I'd still like my tunes to not be downloaded from here. Listenable yes, but downloadable, no.
[edit] so here goes another week where I finished something but have not uploaded it because of this. I hope this can be implemented, would really appreciate it)
Can we possibly have the option not to allow downloads of tracks?
Weeklybeats is a personal challenge for me and although I like people listening to tunes as I make them, I have no interest in making what I upload this year available for download, since part of my yearly practice is to make stuff but not release a thing.
I already have a problem with all my past Weeklybeats submissions being in the torrents even though I erased the submissions from the website.
I rather stream to listen than download it all. It'll just pile up in one of my hard drives.
Also can't bother to mess with Python scripts.
If I had a shoutcast server in my domain I'd do this myself.
That's an interesting idea, thanks bry.
I just hate having to depend on the browser, and I can't play audio on my computer anymore.
Anybody able/wanting to set up a Shoutcast streaming server with each week's songs? It'd be awesome for streaming on a media server, for example (currently my only means of listening to music at home).
I have one of those "play from Chrome" extensions but it doesn't work all the time because it's buggy.
Yeah, I could download all tracks to my hard drive, I know. But I thought I'd ask.
(Maybe even a link to download all week in a zip would be cool)
No computer.
Good opportunity to put my new setup to the test. I'm in for Randomweek-ly Beats! 2016 ![]()
I would like to change the registered email address here, how can I do this? I couldn't find it.
Hey guys, I'll be making a tune tomorrow but I'll be flying across continents and by the time I land i'll be past the meridian midnight.
Can I get an upload link for me to use as soon as I get to an internet connection?
Thanks!
For your information, case you didn't figure it out, MP3 size depends on compression settings, too.
I figured it out:
When the filesize is larger than 16MB (I didn't notice) this comes up.
Would be great if it actually says "file was too big" or something. And to do so before the upload is done.
I'm getting this:

messed-up/
Someone please help me upload my track.
Hmm, I don't know if we could manage to deliver two songs in a week, but it makes sense yeah.
Two different versions of the same collab is a good choice too.
Let's see how it pans out. Thanks!
I have this question...
If two Weeklybeats participants collaborate in a week on a track, is it allowed to have both upload the same tune? Or how would it work best?
