I'm using 2024 as a way to experiment with a beta version of nanoloop android, had some cool features. I'm gonna take it easy and just try to make things when I have time

its so good!! im not very good with it by my buddy spooked has made some bangers with that platform. The features though - its got sampling, chop and stuttering, fm synthesis and all sorts of neat bells and whistles, but it doesn't have to be complicated either big_smile looking forward to hearing some new nanoloop jams

SOOOOOOONNNNN

SO... I've been playing with some of these AI music tools and they are clunky but there is some amazing potential hidden in that mess.

HOWEVER

The use of these tools brings up a lot of questions. And there are a lot of different types of tools too which are not all made the same. Everything from open source basement-dwelling-hacker-code to the literal biggest technology companies in the world exists in this space.

I am totally open to the use of these tools under any color flag you want to fly them. In my mind, its a tool. It is just about the most complicated hammer I have ever seen, but it is still a purpose built machine with a usage. Lots of people of various dubious pedigrees make hammers. Is it ok to use a hammer trained on snuffing kittens? IDK man..

What do you think?

I love when the professor uses me as an example

With any luck, I'll see yall back here for 2024 wink

Who knew it was possible, but this is turning out to be a wilder year than any of the others I've participated in WeeklyBeats as far as life and social externalities go. Good job doing whatever you have been able to do this year so far! Here's to the next half of the year getting easier ^^'

i am liquidsoluble

I'm down. I think I had an account at one point but I might just have to make a new one

oh, neat cool

Ok thanks guys! I was confused.

In the past we were able to edit or change/reupload the submissions before the due date and I wasn't seeing that this time around so I thought maybe I was missing something

Sorry II meant the 9th.  all out of sorts today :-X

I just tried to upload my track and it accepted it but now it doesn't appear anywhere. Did I misunderstand the start date?

oh snap

heart You're a swell guy. Congrats on making it through! smile

6 second songs huh... we'll have to see if I'm on to procedural generation by 2022! So far I've just been brute forcing it 8| But as we have all learned by now, a lot can happen in a year!

I feel the same about this, however what happens in the ‘off’ years?

Traditionally, we wait :-X

I find myself coming back to the site often on the off years if only to review my work and check out some of other peoples work that I missed during the year.
