Happy Metal

By DESLRV on March 22, 2026 11:31 pm

I did something I've done before and ask a streamer what sort of music I should make this week. They suggested Happy Hardcore and they would be interested to see how it meshes with chipmetal.

This is very outside our wheelhouse. We know nothing about the dance music genres. At all. It's probably not something to go back to by most of us, it's just not quite our thing.

Still, it came together pretty well. Perhaps more as a metal song than a dance one. Maybe someday we'll make a real one, but we just like metal better.

Happy hardcore is the genre I didn’t know I needed before you showed us how it’s done. It may be out of your wheelhouse but I think you did really cool work with it!

Got a beautifully electrifying vibe to this one heart

Hahaha this is excellent. So much happiness and lightness. That jumpy beat is perfect! This is still Metal, with the distant guitars but very happy definitely. I love the bridge/break mid point with the birds and the pretty melody before kicking back into hyperspace.

great fun, great energy, great work. enjoyed this one a lot

There's a bit more to it than what's in here, there's definitely better videos that show how it's done. That said, it's not a usual combination and it worked out well enough.

Gotta have a little break in the middle before the drop
These are definitely two completely different genres with completely different terms.

Thank you!

This is CRAZY BANANAS and I'm all about it.

Almost goes into a Tetris feel on the B section then Mega Man metal.

Hahaha this is great. It mashes well with chipmetal. What was the bpm? I think a lot of happy hardcore is much faster.

This song is in good company then, though perhaps could use some focus in the long run.

It's 170, which you'll be surprised to hear is happy hardcore standard, at least according to research.

Oooh such energetic uplifting feels from the drums and especially that chorus melody that comes in yikes  Birbs soundin great and drums driving the track forward. Well done!

Bounce and bounce and bounce and bounce and...  Sweet and catchy melodies in both A and B sections. Really like the piano duet in the A section. The high chiming keys in the B section go a long way to making it feel different from A. Drums are a nice middle ground between techno and a thrashy polka beat. I kept waiting for a power metal guitar solo to come through, but it's a fun song even without

Very enjoyable positive energy from this one. Definitely happy!

We don't really do metal solos as such, other than the short bridges occasionally
The hardcore does the piano as it should, but the metal part does them as counterpoint to the chips, a neat contrest for sure

this is my new workout song!

Playfull and carefree!

It works great.

Birds. Really like the "happy" square lead at 30 secs. I really like the call response with the piano panned right.

Well played.

You nailed this though!

Perfect way to wrap up this week for me! smile
