this meeting could have been an email

I made this after an end-of-week meeting.

I honestly didn't think I was going to have anything to submit this week. Didn't have a lot of time to create anything much less handle it with care. Yesterday, though I was attempting to be playful, I found myself unhappy that I might not have something that felt "good enough" to even try and finish. Part of me was like, "It's okay to take breaks, you can take a week off"...which is 100% true. We can all take a break whenever needed. And then another part of me was like, "It's also okay to release perfectionism, and simply submit something to just be in the process." Took a break from it last night (also, what I'm learning is wise), then today added the whisper ad libs and was cracking up while mixing. This song is so ridiculous but I am really glad I stuck with the process.

My hope for us all is that we get outside, touch more grass, shake more ass.

I already knew I was going to enjoy this when I saw the title. I laughed out loud when I heard the whispered "forest bathing". But my breath was taken away by those stacked vocal harmonies!!! Absolutely stunning, you have a magnificent voice.

I totally get the struggle! And you're absolutely right that we can take a break whenever we want, but sometimes pushing past that perfectionism and trusting the process can produce wonderful things such as this! Which I think is the real magic of weeklybeats. I'm glad you persisted and we got to hear this!

oh gosh this is AMAZING. to think you almost didn't make this!!!!!

fantastic!!! that beat is absolutely perfect for a meeting that could have been an email.  Wow!

And those voices, and the lyrics are so funny! And the slow pace means that even when you know what's coming you are still looking forward to it and laughing even harder when you finally hear the words!

They do say great art comes from suffering (I am they).

This is fantastic - those stacked harmonies give me some O brother where art thou vibes, and the whole thing is legit funny. Need to send this to my wife (who frequently has meetings like this).

Most of all, I love that this track came out of a certain degree of letting go and just following the creativity - not worrying if something was going to be “good enough”, just having fun with it. And ending up with a fantastic track after all!

wow the vocal harmony is amazing! so glad you decided to record this.  The whispers and the 1-2 groove had me swaying in time.
WB is awesome for just letting the creativity flow.  Breaks are most def good.  For me I sorta use it as a music journal. Hearing your older WB tracks feels like a time capsule later whether it's good or bad. smile  I had to replay cuz that harmony is so good! fav'ed!

amazing. and all too relatable heart

This is perfect.

Wow! you've got pipes, thank you for sharing this with us. those whispers are quite funny

"may that email never find me"
"earthing bitch"
ah ha ha ha

needed the giggle - thank you

Reject perfectionism, touch grass

Thank you to everyone who listened to this, silly as it is lol! I've been on a much needed break from WB but I'm excited to be back at it this week. Looking forward to making some more music in the coming weeks.
