Chasing the white rabbit

By KaZu on February 22, 2026 9:33 pm

Hey everyone smile

Well… what’s there to say?
Still struggling with sound selection, writing melodies with proper call and response, actually finishing the track in time, and so on.

I guess it’ll all come together eventually smile

Here’s my entry for this week. Hope you enjoy it a little!

Cheers

KaZu

P.S. Always grateful for any constructive feedback ^_^

Wasn’t sure about the whole detune/chorus thing at first, but now I’m glad I left it the way it is.

Really happy you enjoyed the track!

Thanks again, I really appreciate it! smile

Enjoy a little? I enjoyed this a lot! Another Great song by KaZu

LOVE the detune.

Solid bop
- Ebrit

That's a tune to party to. Like the supersaw and the theme during the break.

Are you a M8 user or is this a software DAW? What's yer weapon of choice?

I’m working purely in the digital realm, my DAW of choice is Ableton Live smile

How about you? How do you create your music?

I've used the Synthstrom Deluge for all of my weekly beats so far, as a learning goal. This week I might use Logic, which is my daily, just because I have a straightforward song idea and, bless my heart, my vocal always needs tuning. Lol

Wow, that’s a great piece of hardware! smile
Kinda envy you big_smile. I never seem to have the patience to get properly into that kind of gear ^^

I have to confess that it hasn’t necessarily found a place in my day-to-day work. A couple of years ago, one of my publishers did a project where the jazz players made straightforward jazz songs, and the hip-hop and EDM people did remixes. I had an absolute blast chopping up a couple of jazz tunes and putting beats down with it. The deluge completely rocked for that project. And it can be super handy for sample based performance.

But basically, I’m trying to use it every week this year so that by the end of the year I’m either, hell yeah, or no, and can make a decision one way or the other.

Man, that must be so nice, getting your hands on professionally recorded samples like that! big_smile

Combined with the Synthstrom Deluge, I bet that led to some really unique beats that nobody else has! smile

I just tried to find the album online. To be honest, I don't know that label's sub publishers off the top of my head...
found it! https://catalog.bulletproofbear.com/album/9125828
My remixes are Jalapeño Spice Mix, Sonny Side Sizzle, Work is Dusted, and Soul Party Getdown. I'd done a bunch of lofi treatments but they asked me to remove. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Sorry for the late reply!

Man, that’s a shame — the lofi versions would’ve been really interesting to hear as well ^^

I really enjoyed the remixes overall! Jalapeño Spice Mix especially was super nice! Thanks for sharing smile
