The Negative

Another metal track. In the last 30 minutes before deadline, as I was listening to the track on my way to the grocery store, some vocal ideas hit me. Unfortunately, I have zero time left to expand on them or to write lyrics, so I decided to only include a shitty snippet of those vox at the end since I recorded them in the last 10 minutes. Normally my "growls" are whispery during the incubation stage of coming up with something that I want to really yell out. So embrace the cringe I suppose. I guess I could say these are black metal vocals and pass off as legit.

I thought the growls fit in really well. Would have liked them louder! I like the sound you get on your lead when playing dissonant notes (e.g. 0:46, 0:56, and a bunch of other places on that lead). The section where you go into arpeggios in 6 at 2:50 is cool. Intense build there.

I was listening to this track while doing something else and stopped and thought how high quality this is. It's so much better than a metal music out there. And you do that as part of the weekly beats. This is inspiring. "gotta get my shit together" is the feeling I get when listening to that kind of quality playing, creativity, composition skills.
