Sitar RR

By Monstrosus on September 4, 2022 11:53 pm

After watching the amazing film RRR from Indian director S. S. Rajamouli, I’ve been subsequently listening to the soundtrack quite a lot lately.  It’s inspired me to make something Indian flavored with some modern elements.   There are a couple sitar sample loops in GarageBand iOS that I built the track around.   I used a few auv3 apps for rest of the sounds(drones, tablas, etc) - ThumbJam, DrumJam, Agonizer, GeoShred, and a few GarageBand synths and drums.

Such a good movie, and this is a good track, love the groove and sounds, final mix a little quiet, but still crisp. Nice!

The tabla sound is great. I am always a fan of the deep percussion sound. cool flutes and sitar, but I also really like the big waaaahing bass, adding some more flavor to the mix.

Thoroughly enjoyed this, especially that sound that emerges from around the 0:48 mark.
