It's good to be back.
Track is all M8 synths and samples and mix. rendered out to a final mix and normalized in audacity.

Mindset and babblings:
This track was originally inspired by a recent EZBOT stream about the M8 and dub chords.
I don't know if the end result is really fits the dub style or not, but there's definitely a heavy dose of delay and reverb as is customary with my tracks. The arrangement is a bit simplistic as i did not have much time to really work on it much. but I'm very happy with the end.
I'm also very happy that I pushed myself to get week 1 done. I'm feel a lot more inspired this year for music making and even though i did not anticipate the M8 to be a major part in this, somehow it managed to sneak back into my focus beam.

I'm going to try hard to adhere to a consistent WB publishing schedule but often these things tend to fall apart after a few submissions. Hoping that with my new OP-XY, M8 and octatrack, the juices will remain a-flowin'

I can't wait to listen to all of your amazing submissions as well and feel completely inadequate.

Peace and love everyone.

This was a delight! The high hats took me by surprise when they finally came in. Good job setting a mood and delaying the gratification.

Perfect dub techno vibe, love it, grabbing this for infinibit ;P

really really nice! Excellent ambience, excellent mix, really beautiful sounds, excellent rhythm.

hell yeah heart

What a banger! Love the vibe big_smile

Nice! Love that chord at ~ 0:50.

LETS GO. This is gorgeous. I plan to try some dub techno at some point if I can keep momentum. Great work!

Love that foghorny sound starting around 1:40. Foreboding, yet bangin’

I can easily see myself dancing to this. Was actually doing some serious head-bobbing while listening, hahaha...
The plucky-synthy choice for those lone delay-filled notes here and there are awesome!
Looking forward to more fun stuff like this!

Vibe city!

Thats such a great track man. Love the vibes and the mix. Its produced super well.

Wow, this track took me into Tetris Effect: Connected. My brain started subconsciously stacking before I knew what was going on. The lead line that comes in halfway is grabby. Nice one!

Absolutely hypnotic, love it!

I don't know how you know how to do this, but take a repetitive, minimal 6:55 track but turn it into a compelling story that keeps my attention.  really really really well done.

Rich, urgent sound and great space with enough variation to captivate me and leave me wanting more!

Love it!

I remember loving this during the listening party. Tons of nice ear candy. Good work!

holy sh... this is tight.
kick is super well placed, the synths are angelic, the hat is where it should be, the hats turning into double-hats, so much... hnng.

Oops, pressed submit.

masterclass in house/techno right here.
the 2:42 high sine beep though.. Harsh for us tinnitus peeps.
The break is inspirational and drops you in a warm bath.

I just have to close my eyes and listen to it all.
shhh.

I wanna take a moment and particularly underline your comment. this comment means a lot to me, i've spent years struggling with this exact problem and wondering how people can take a seemingly simple melody and sparse arrangement and make something that's constantly captivating and enjoyable without feeling that adhd need of something else. So to get this comment from you means the world and warms my heart. Thank you very much im very happy it gave you that feeling.
Also i don't know if i had the chance to comment on your own video but that was suchhhhh a good video and song. brought me so much joy watching it during the listeningparty on discord.
It brought me back to my old days of punk music and playing in bands with my friends, skateboarding, and having a good time without any care in the world.
great job!

thanks that's very generous!
yeah i think i have something with my ears where the high frequencies don't affect me as much and sometimes my tracks will be overtly rich in highs. probably from all the years writing LSDJ tracks full blast big_smile

So happy you dig it though means a lot

This is great, very groovy but controlled and restrained, evolving at *just* the right rate.

Very trance inducing. I like it a lot! I really like those chord stabs too. Nice dynamic there.

The dub chords are entirely convincing to me. Good job there! Those subtle Rhodes touches add a lot here. As does the delay-drenched "lead" in the second half.

I don't even care whether this meets dub techno #genrepolice requirements. I'll just say I enjoyed the end result and I think you managed to occupy the full 7 minutes well.

Nitpick: let that delay sound out fully at the end, don't kill it early!

thank you so much! I'm really glad you liked it and i also agree that genre police can suck it

also it's hilarious you mention the end, i spent pretty much an hour trying to trim down the end as little as possible to fit into the 16MB limit. at some point i realized i had no choice but to do a quick fade out. the original had a lot more delay tails but oh well big_smile

Really smooth sound. Great rhythm as well, it's really bouncy
