A Little Bit of Green

By Suhpos on February 22, 2026 10:11 pm

I haven't really had much drive lately, so i'm sorry i haven't been engaged on here, i hope soon i will be able to join you again. I think the spirit around this site and the fact there's a thriving positive community on the internet is amazing, and really want to contribute but my head gets in the way. I guess i need better habits responding and leaving comments... but my kitchen is like that at the moment as well... Everything in waves i guess.
But i got something done which i guess is the important part. Felt a bit like I was doing some kind of casual painting just throwing on whatever colors came to me... turned out nice i think?

great! some sounds are similar to my bike squeaking, I tried recording it many times but never got to use any of the samples. the guitar sounds good, it's like recorded forwards and backwards at the same time! The emerging rhythms from all the sounds (flutes, squeaks, guitar, the weird bubbly things) are so unusual. great for many listens, seems like you can never predict what comes next, but it all makes sense because there is some kind of melody in the guitar lines. beautiful piece! there's a yearning and an unfulfilled wish / hope in this music.

it did turn out very nice, indeed.
i could almost feel the sound in my hands

I love the blend of the ambient noises and the guitar here, this is really lovely!

this is really good to hear right now

Very cozy little song

Thanks for the descriptive comment and kind words! Sometimes i feel its more interesting not to write to much about the process to see how people interpret things. I will write a little bit here anyways:
The guitar was played along with a half speed track. Like i’ve done many times before. I cut it so the parts were always the same chords underneath, moved around kind of randomly without snapping. It was played in kind of a changing tempo way, which is probably why the rythms sound a bit weird. The “flute” part was the recorder with the headpiece removed played like a trumpet. Did the same slowing scheme to that. Then i recorded a zither part but it didn’t turn out great, i added some delay to it and tried to hide it in the mix. I really like the idea of using recordings that you don’t feel like are working in a more utility kind of way (like filling out space.) the squeeks were a synth part. Some weird crackle i dont where it came from, probably the limiter but actually i think i prefer the piece like that.

Thank you for listening!

the play between the guitar and skittering sounds has such a dreamy relaxing feel.  Like I'm laying back in a hammock enjoying nature around me.
