little life w43

By SQF on October 27, 2024 4:53 pm

Alright, I was able to rescue the work I abandoned from the week before.
The random title assigned by the m8 was "little life" and after completing this the title does make sense.

I ended up glueing together several parts that I think I did a decent job of making flow together.
Some may call it a medley, I look at it like a slice of life, seasons of change if you will.

Cheers to week 43!

Yeah, there is a nice story here ... a well-voiced dialogue. Nice work.

Excellent bouncy groove between the drums n bass.  Ohhh that synth lead over the thick synth sounds so good.  Love the change up around 1:45 such a sinister sound to the bass as it dances with the wavy synth.  Such a thick wall of synth sound! The extra bounce to the drums is addictive. Oooh the other chord change at 3:31 hail yais! So much ear candy harmony! Glad this was resurrected smile

It rides an appealing groove the whole way, but takes some interesting twists and turns on its journey, all of which flow really well.  I especially liked the last minute or so.

Wow some of these synths are thiiick haha, the sound is awesome. TM described the bass as "sinister" which is pretty apt. Love how this grooves the whole way through with a pretty similar beat but pretty much everything else goes through drastic changes over time and feels like a different song by the end.

That hip hop beat roots the different synth progressions nicely. The highlight for me is the synth work in the last two minutes of the track. Everything built up to that, and it's gorgeous.

holy dang where did i just go

It is very much a different song by the end, kind of fun though.

yessss, thanks. The last 2 minutes was the largest chunk I had but I'm glad I could make the others flow.

LOL dude, I do not know

Thick synth bass, snappy drum groove, m8 pitch bendies, head nodding … check!

Medley perhaps but there's a lot going on here that sounds great. The consistent beat reminds me of some early Orbital - Insides in particular - where they would have several "movements' progressing over a consistent beat, variations that never necessarily returned to an originating section, very much a journey like this piece. Absolutely love the synth work in the last minute or two, to echo rplktr, really nice bit of sound design and musical playfulness there! Great track!

It's actually quite nice that it's a medley, this makes it really interesting. I also love the groovyness of this (the deep bass owns)

That groove! smile So catchy. Any your instrumentation is always so spot on and interesting! I like the chippy feel this week. Great tune!
