Started with a drum sample/loop.
I was digging this syncopated bass instrument, so I built a few different variations and a bridge section to keep it interesting.
Played more panning and doubling elements to continue building the song.

Nice driving energy. I feel like I'm playing an intense platformer arcade game. 
There's really a sense of forward momentum. I agree it would be awesome video game music, but I think it could be good to dance to or to amp up a workout.
