KOALA

By snoopy over the hills on December 29, 2024 10:44 pm

This one’s a bit rough. I made it entirely in the Koala Sampler app on my iPad. I’ve been searching for a simple way to sketch beats on the go, at work, or whenever inspiration hits. The plan was to export the stems to Ableton and refine everything on my computer.

…That didn’t happen. 😅
Instead, I ended up with a screen recording from my iPhone. The audio quality isn’t great, but hey – not a year without a little glitch. First and last one for this year.

Massive thanks to everyone who’s been part of this journey. I’m honestly so proud to have made it all the way to the end.

Next week feels kind of scary – the emptiness after this. But I think I’ll just keep going and see where it takes me. I’ve got plans to officially release some of the tracks from this year, but that doesn’t mean I’ll stop making something new every week.

To everyone who’s been riding along – WE MADE IT. Big up!!! See you all in 2026 for another round of weekly beats!

this is super cool! kinda like how it is just pure samples no mastering etc. i was just messing around with koala sampler tonight, it's taken me some time to figure it out but it seems pretty simple i guess. really cool track!

In the description you made it sound like the track is going to sound terrible, but I have to tell you there's nothing wrong with it in my view. The lofi samples were a conscious choice, and you were clearly going for that chill beats vibe. A fully successful entry and a cool laid back way to finish WB24.

Yeah, I agree, this was a wild ride. We made it! Indeed. Congratulations!

i mean, i get that it may not have been what you were wanting to do up front... but i think this is dope. you've got a great ear and instincts. the building blocks were cool, so i'm not surprised you put this together. that you did it on your phone is pretty incredible!
love that piano. reminds me a bit of V.Guaraldi, which is appropriate considering yr user name  smile

really enjoyed following your musical journey on here in 2024, and hope to hear more from you. cheers, snoopy over the hills!
