Back Porch Groove

Speedtrash this week. The germ for this one was a looper pedals exercise, though for the recording, I ended up recording parts piecemeal (as you can almost certainly hear). The only sounds are electric guitar and a field recording of some cicadas

The different layers interact really well with each other.  I think this one actually has an upbeat (dare I say happy?) vibe to it.  The cicadas are a nice touch as well.

It's like you are vibing with the happy insects.

It kind of reminds me of something Herb Alpert would do. Just needs a trumpet solo.

i like the sound of that guitar, comforting.
and i'm a sucker for cicadas  smile

Thank you! The cicadas are actually the same recording I used on "And a Dollar Short"

Thank you! And good shout on Herb Alpert, both for the Latin influence and the overdubbing he liked to do

Thank you! Guitar is a strat neck pickup, using the "Country Twang" setting of a Fender Mustang Micro headphone amp

A great combo of instruments right there, it just feels right.
