Shores of the Phosphene Sea

This week's submission was hard! I started late as usual. I had a few improvisational sessions where I came up with some ideas I liked, but unfortunately I felt like I wanted more time to work on them and develop them further. Then I set a timer for an hour and tried to speed run something else, but it sounded like nonsense. I was almost thinking I would just consider this a break week and submit nothing (after all there's no harm in it and I've definitely skipped weeks before)... but for whatever reason after that wave of initial frustration passed I kind of felt a bit more relaxed and decided to try to make something simple. Apparently phosphenes are those little pin points of light you can see when your eyes are closed. This tune made me feel like I was about to drift off into a dream or something so in addition to a track I also found a title!

Man we're on the same wavelength this week because I used the word Phosphene in my lyrics, haha. I was trying to describe the sensation of meditating and seeing lights behind your eyelids.
This kind of reminds me of some of the tracks of this game I played a while back called Lunacid. It's a dungeon crawling game with a ghostly and dreamy atmosphere. The mix of that synth pad with the plucked instrument (not sure what it is) kind of nails the tone.

love the atmosphere that synth pad gives the track.  A mystical fog is in the air.  The drums march us forward. Well done!

I know all too well those feelings you describe about trying to figure out the right idea to move forward with. Glad you were able to push through and turn one in. Relaxing vibe, I dig.

This is really cool! Great blend of instruments and I'm glad you were able to overcome your frustration

Very nice track, and I learned a term I didn’t know before.

I love the haunted feel of this track(also love the sound and mix of the drum-kit, it's upfront but not too invasive) heart
