Ten Speeds

By Pop Tronics on January 21, 2024 7:15 pm

Lyrics:

"I know that you want me
I know that you got needs
My new bikes got 10 speeds
I don’t know you
I don’t know you

started out in town I was all alone
Fresh cut, clean hair, sick fade, New comb.

Don’t sleep, don’t leave the house for days
Bottle up shut down and stow it away

Fury on me like a mother scorned
Secondhand top shop police uniform

Too amped. Hat down.  pulling up the drive
Bobby bounce mic Check and the party’s live

Tied up in the back of the sprinter van
Got More lost boys than Peter Pan

Try to keep it dry but my hands are wet
Too much too soon and a cigarette

Tiptoe to the phone. who’s on the line
We comin in. You’re out of time

Croquet regret, and the Grateful Dead
Court date checkmate. listen how I pled.

Why do you suppose that I act this way
Cover up for the night and greet the day

Try and cut the grease with a spoon of dawn
Pilot light is out.  now I’m on the lawn

Time is running out now you’re on the move
Flip text no respect now I’m in the groove

So tired I can barely lift my head
Sleep is for the dumb sleep is for the dead

Try to make friends.  a familiar place
New clothes, new house, new car, new face

Someone’s outside and the neighbor knows
Mopping up his blood with the brand new clothes

Piggies coming back well at least you tried
Study for a week now I’m in the sty

Look, who’s laughing now that you’ve got a badge
Call me kind of crazy, but it was worth a stab"

This song is a musical collaboration with my friend James P.M. Lee. James came up with the concept, recorded vocals, and added samples to music that I recorded.

This song was created with the assistance of the internet since James lives in Brooklyn and I live in Detroit.

All the music was created on the MPC Live 2 and the music and vocals were mixed in Logic.

James and I used to be in a 2 piece rock band called The Furies. If you're curious to hear more of our music it can be found at the following links.

A remote collab, nice! Drums sounding good and I like how that synth gives the eerie edge

yeah babyyy, Eletro-Furies.  Post the lyrics?  I can't catch a lot of them.

Yeah I was trying to give it a real eerie or moody feel. Thanks for listening.

Lyrics posted! catch 'em all.

Nice.

This has a good vibe. My bike has way fewer speeds.

I prefer just one speed honestly.
