AEROPLANE

By PeterM on January 9, 2026 3:59 am

This is a song that I wrote for my friend who took his own life by intentionally crashing a small plane in the middle to the night.

More vocals. Thanks jwh for the tips! Any more feedback on the vocals and mixing etc is welcome here. Trying to learn!

I started this song with the uke part and eventually wrote some lyrics and found a melody to put them to. I'm please with the results. I will probably write another verse for this at some point. Just wanted to get this version down. Didn't spend much time on the percussion. Just knew I was not able to give any more time this week to this.

Thanks for listening!

This. Is. So. Good. The minimal instrumentation really works. It doesn’t feel like it’s missing anything.

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend.
"You're caught in a cage, but I know that you'll be free again" and "she cut you and it hurts but I know that you will heal again" really get to me. This is a touching homage.
And I agree with SQF, I think this sounds great as is! I don't feel like anything is missing at all.

love the pace of this and such catchy vocals that had me nodding along. This isn't missing anything but more listens! heart

Condolences on your friend, but you have created a lovely little track in tribute.  I agree it sounds great as is and doesn't need anything else added.

Came across this again while listening to a random WB playlist. I instantly was able to remember whose and what song it was in less than 2 seconds. Goes to show you made something that really left an impression heart

welp that's me in tears over here

my sincere condolences to you. i've had some friends take themselves out of the game too, and it's just so hard to process.

the song is GREAT. like it's so catchy and melodic, but there's a great depth to it. a powerful combination.
and your vocals are on point. really nicely mixed all around.
sounds complete to my ears too. well done, PeterM heart

Powerful stuff
That first line was quite unexpected, but I guess these are things that could happen in life
My condolences

Thanks jegasus! I'm just getting started on lyric writing so it's nice to hear your reaction there. It felt good to be channelling my emotions into something creative like this.

Thanks so much jwh! That is high praise coming from a pro like you haha! But really, thanks so much for your help and tips on the vocals. I'm feeling like it's possible now.

Thanks Ebrit! Yes, life is very unexpected sometimes. I was very upset and glad to have this musical outlet. Appreciate you listening and commenting.
