I Don't Feel Like Talking Very Much

By orangedrink on January 10, 2026 10:58 pm

So excited for another year with you all!  Welcome to the newcomers!  I'll do a proper re-intro soon, but incredibly busy right now heart

LYRICS:
i don’t feel like talking very much

i’m trying my best but it never seems enough
feeling kind of rough
honestly i think i’m out of touch
don’t where to start with all of this stuff

i don’t feel like talking right now

surrounded by technology and disconnected: wow
please just explain to me how
education and empathy are out
willful disinformation is what we’re all about?

i don’t feel like talking to you

if i did then you’d have to prove
that your eyes, to your phone, aren’t glued
i miss when you would listen, but now you’re not in the mood
as a grandpa, it’s a little rude

i don’t feel like talking to myself

i know journaling and mediation are good for my health
it’s not easy
i don’t want to responsible for taking care of me
shoutout to my homies in group therapy

i don’t feel like talking very much

I hereby declare your song a FANTASTIC TRACK.
Even though you don't feel like talking much wink

I don't feel like typing very much but this one was f*cling dope, Sir!

Loving those moogy leads, the poignant lyrics and the whole "chiptuny" production, plus great hihat/ride play on that beat.

Glad you still feel like making super dupa stuff very much lately. Awesome !!!

Really like the lyrical motif. I’m toying with a different fifth in my head idk why. I’m trying to get good at lyrics this year.

I feel like it grabbed me because “to you” felt personal. A big escalation from “very much” like it was winding up and I wanted it to keep winding up, but instead, it wound back down where “to myself” felt flatter lyrically, even though it’s something of an escalation in meaning, and then “very much” was back to the zero.

Maybe “can’t handle talking to myself” and then at the end put something dissonant in the spotlight like “I can’t handle life” or “I can’t listen”

This is so incredibly well done.

Dude... The flow here is just EXCELLENT. And I like how simple you kept the beat, super fun while still very full. Awesome!!!

how do you have the time to make a fun rap jam & make a cute lil vid for it in one week!! Shout out to frank.

extremely relatable content. love the lyrics.

SO GOOD! tackles very relatable and contemporary themes. instrumental is giving me Boards of Canada vibes

This is such a great track! Also, great video! Congrats!

I love the tune, and I totally feel ya with the lyrics too.

Yung Grandpa returns! big_smile Fantastic beat and solid themes. Great work!

I can (unfortunately) relate to the lyrics a little too much.  levelcapybara beat me to the punch but I was going to ask if this counts as a Yung Grandpa appearance especially after I caught the Grandpa reference in the lyrics.  Dig the bouncy synths as well.

Lyrics go hard

Dude, same.

extremely relatable lyrics! this beat goes hard as hell!

This is so good... I have alot of similar ideas brewing. Inspired by too many events, new and old. Well done mate!

YES!!!! Love it.

"Shoutout to my homies in group therapy".
Love this, man!

Ahhh!  Love this.  Interesting resolve from major to minor on the main hook.  Great bass notes which tie it all up together and awesome reverbs.  A perfect reflection for a cheeky walk with the doggo for sho.  Although I was worrying about how slippery that snow looked :-o

My favorite part of this is the Sony MD7506 headphones... the perfect field recording headphones for on-the-go vocals!

The flow and the lyrics are a real standout!

that opening arp with the drums is so addictive.  love the feel and lyrics especially.  shout out to my homies heart love the hook and instantly faved cuz that synth melody is sooo good. yais!

But yet, you are talking again!

Like that hip hop flow and beat.

Great job on the video again as well! Lots of care there. See you next week!

"brb, out walking the dog and spitting some bars real quick"

I love the glissandos on the synth voice that comes in around 1:13.  Super cool effect, and I think it really makes for a nice break down "solo" kind of vibe there. Cool track.

Capturing the 2026 vibe perfectly, love it

This track is real AF man.

It's also great. It's like slacker rock but hip hop. PavementRap or something haha.

That solo at the end is chef's kiss

You don't have to talk if you don't want to
but blink twice if you're being held against your will
- Ebrit

great track, even better lyrics.
*hugs*

Everything about this track makes me smile. Bouncy, quirky beat and (ironic) talking tap into my core. The lyrics are perfect.

I feel called out as I’m glued to my phone at work with headphones on and well, don’t feel like talking to anybody today lol. Favorited

Great concept with the video that supports the theme of the song. Short, sweet. I can't say much that other's haven't covered, but I love your exploration of different genres, looking forward to future submissions. Keep up the great work!

really cool song! feels a tiny bit bad thematically to have watched it on my phone...

i was absolutely unprepared for the cutest dog u ever seen tho heart

heart

I love the song (those pads, man!) and I love everything about the lyrics.

Now, there’s a new star in the video I’ve not seen before that I can’t get over: what’s that absolutely glorious pup’s name? I will need an introduction because I can’t not love an animal and obviously have weak spots for dogs. (Cats too. In fact, most animals, but grateful for ones that like to hang. Like baby cows will hang and play and run happily, they’re also invited.)

Love your way and please tell your dog I said hi and maybe boop the snoot for me? heart

Was not expecting a dog walking rap when I came in here and I was pleasantly surprised.

You music is feeling very poignant this year. I am really loving it.

There ya go, a fun walk with some real talk, hell yeah. In that WI snow. New puppers, awesome!
The cam on the stick is working!

slick lines! yeah i agree with all that was said... nice lil synth solo too!

That certainly sums it up

Right?

This sounds so pro! Love the simple/clever riff and the off-kilter percussion is dope. The rapping and lines are on point and give me the nerdcore vibes I crave. Glad to see your back and bringing it so strong in 2026!

please forgive this gif
this excellent track deserves better

i don't feel like talking very much, either: i'm just here for the fame wink big_smile

I love the flow of this. The way the vocals land over the beat is really tasty. Good stuff

I mean... I get it x_X

Like the flow, keep on improving on it it's definitely going somewhere!

sick flow bro

Catching up on your stuff! Glad I am since this is a very strong entry. Love how the music is all filtered until you start rapping and then it opens up the bass gates and everything falls into place. Powerful lyrics, too, and you rap very well!

No notes, five stars. Well, I wish it were longer, but I get it. Weekly cadence is a lot to ask.

Everytime I see your name I just start laughing - I don’t think I’ll ever get over our laughing fit, one for the books!
Thanks for listening, or at least, pretending to listen smile

Thanks!  I really appreciate your feedback and really taking it to heart.  Yeah, it’s tough writing lyrics in such a short time frame without much/any time for revisions - I like your ideas about trying to move things in an escalating way.  heart
