Kythera

A bit of an awkward time of year--on the positive side, we've had a few days off, and a chance to relax, though there are still vexations: a few people with colds, cleaning out a house (still), and low humidity, which now means little painful areas at my fingertips as I tried to do some fingerpicking for this piece. With everything going on, I limited tracking to late Friday, late Saturday, and a couple sections this morning.
While I started it in 4/4, I also subconsciously changed key fairly quickly, editing out one persistently glaring note. In between Friday and Saturday, the music I was hearing changed from 4/4 to 5/4 against 3/4, adding a challenge in arrangement. Could I make that flow? You be the judge. (Also notable is that I let myself uncork the emotional content a bit during the two solos. Those might be my favorite parts.)
Three tracks of home-built Res-O-Glas guitar (body kit from the late, lamented Guitar Kits USA, an Airline Belmont shape, Lace Alumitone P90s, Epiphone varitone circuit...) into the UA Volt. No effects other than convolution reverb and the light compression/eq on the stereo channels.
The title comes from the minor planet 570 Kythera.
