The Last Stand

By Kedbreak136 on December 1, 2024 10:51 pm

This track was inspired by a rewatch of Dune, and the last stand of Duncan Idaho. However I got sick on Sunday and could not really take the track to where I wanted to. I still had fun with a lot of Kontakt libraries and a Mongolian singing splice sample pack. That was fun, but I need to come back to this one.

Dune vibes captured, must have a spice sample pack.

I do not know dune, I am sorry, but let me describe what I was listening to. It started primarily in a dark scenery, then having a cameramove to a hitten drum in the light of an open fireplace. Suddenly the camera goes back and you see a hundreds of enthusiastic monklike people doing also the drumming and preparing for a fight. Women are hauling and the mastermonk gives a couple of last instructions. However your song was like a trailer from a big cinematic event. Well done.

I like this, very epic, awe inspiring, and with a Warcraft Orc in the background just vibing.

I can definitely get the Dune vibe off of this.  It's very cinematic and has a military marching feel to it.  The monk vocal is a cool touch.

YES. this is epic, Kedbreak

Very interesting and clearly inspired by Dune and the original soundtrack. Good effort, I especially liked the pitch-shifted choir/pads and the super-low voice at the end that reminded me of the spacer voices from the beginning of the movies.

Nitpick: more reverb on higher registers. Make it yuuuuge!

oh yes, total last stand of Duncan Idaho vibes. Epic. You have a skill for these cinematic scapes, always have the right sounds and vibe. This is so cool. Everything and the chanting especially reminds me of Dune. That chanting, wow. Great work. I'm ready to go fight the good fight now!

"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer."
Instant Duney vibes with that opening swell.  The guttural vocals were a cool surprise and really captured that spice must flow vibe.  The percussion and drum work in this is awesome.  Those rolls \m/

Ohh, very cool.  Love the percussive elements and the pitching melodic elements.  Really adds to the tension.
