rolling clouds uncover a full moon
chains twist and clank in the dark
there is only one salvation
an injection to hold fast the transformation
but it has already begun

this track is a bit of a slow burn.

m8 bundle

Yes! Love the evolving sound of this. and when those breaks finally kick feels so good!

That is a hungry, meaty, thick bass and some wonderful twinkly synths as garnish. Loved the slow burn journey.

SLOW BUUUURN!!! YES!!! More of this, please!!! I love a tense build up, and you've achieved it SUPER well here. While it does have a slow buildup, I didn't feel that it ever got repetitive or boring. You managed to keep it fresh, interesting and engaging throughout.
OH SHIT AND THEN THERE'S DNB??? FUCK! This is awesome!!! The little synth lead at around 3:40 (and subsequent parts) is delicious.
Fantastically done, this is SO DAMN FUN!

Yeah! I didn't have any of the intro stuff at first, but then had the sequencer on a loop with just the droney part, then I dropped the breaks back in and I was like.. that's the song. it teaches you the progression so I can just hammer over it later lol

I had some extra time with this one, so I sat down and dialed in the bass. I feel like the amen is just a hair too sharp in the mid, but maybe just my ears.

k good, week 6 has this sort of ingram marshall style temple drone thing and then some surprises.

i'm always paranoid that a long intro sequence will bore the listener. it's an act of faith for the listener and I feel that is asking a lot these days.

i wanted just enough buildup and foreshadowing that when those gabber kicks hit, you don't even notice. Or like, when you learn something it changes you bit by bit and you're not fully aware of how you've changed until suddenly, you "get it" all at once and you notice you've changed. It seems like it happens suddenly, but it is gradual.

great track! something very different from your other stuff this year but I really like this too!

Superb tracking on this one!  I love the development of the intro―that is premium M8 sound design.  Hit +fav by 00:45 without even caring what came next.  The bass surfacing at 2:25 cool   The little break in the clouds with the synth delays at 04:25 heart  So many great details

Not if it's good―I don't normally listen all the way through a gabber track, but this one had earned it before the first kick.

F SLAM. Thanks for taking the time out of your busy schedule of slaying my soul to listen and comment. lol

If your energy level jumps instantaneously, splat. But if you bring the change on gradually it's ok. Cathartic even.

I still think I could foreshadow what's coming a little more. Maybe a few of the distorted kicks set back in the mix a couple of bars earlier. Doesn't everyone like heavy drilling kicks at 200bpm?

Maybe I should try to make a stairway to gabber? Like, by the time those kicks drop, it's not even that you expect them... you NEED them. can it be done... I think about it a lot.

I still felt like it fit into my dark fantasy dnb design language! But maybe a bit more new listener friendly.

Good vibes from outer space
