a dance of wasps

Thought I'd join in the WB fun this year to challenge myself + force myself to take some time for music. I haven't had time to make music for over two years and before then I was still a newbie hobbyist creating short loops to try to learn some music production.

Because I almost never go outside my short loop comfort zone - this is one of the first "full tracks" that I've attempted. Made on the M8 and then took it into the computer to embellish some things.

It can only get better from here on but I am pretty proud that I put something together at all.

soundcloud (mix is a little louder but don't think I made other changes): link

Really like those light melody lines.

The vibe is great, I love the nostalgic "chiptunish" touches here and there on top or those synths.

Love the narative aspect of the melody!

chiptune chirps make a great ear candy on this superb track. love how this comes together

Quite elegant.

It's nice how the elements develop over time, the track strays fresh at every point

Cool!

Excellent groove right from the start with the punchy drums.  The delayed synth sounds extra good over the drums as they sparkle the stereo field.  Well done!

This is great stuff. The melodic progression really stands out. I will echo @jimmac's comment on the chippy bleeps. they are a great accent without going overboard. This is very mature for one of your first full tracks.

Thank you all for listening, taking the time to comment and the encouragement. Super kind

love it! welcome! sounds great, and here is mr bean doing a dance of wasps:

so good!!

Kinda reminds me of Lorn a little bit? Love the little bleeps, which feel like accents in just the right amount. The high horn pops are nice too!!
