Just In Time

By midimachine on January 22, 2022 11:19 pm

90s-ish alt-rock indie stuff this week!

all the guitars are a tiki baritone ukulele thru various amp/cab sims, bass is a cort 4-string jazz bass w/ flatwound strings, drums are the default spitfire LABS kit. more info in the video!

lyrics:
could've been strong
could've been anything at all
i guess i was wrong
pride doesnt come before a fall

but i think i took it well
did my best, i gave 'em hell
and i think you saved the day

shouldn't be hard
shouldn't be more than i can do
hand full of cards
but i made the call before i knew

when i'd fall before the line
when i'd make it just in time
when i'd think you saved the day
such a crazy thing to say
and it's easy to look back
turn the grey to white and black
but i'll see where i was blind
and i'll make it just in time

Awesome, and super unexpected! Really, really cool song,

Holy shit dude, this is so cool.  Love the video idea where you're walking through the production/engineering, you've got me over here taking notes.  Especially thanks for the tip on that fake feedback at the end, that sounds great.  Excellent song writing too, totally digging it.

Wow, the production value is through the roof, great work

Wow, this sounds so good. The composition, the production, the singing - super impressive! This takes me back to 90s Radiohead (which is a good thing in my book). I love the video with the explanations how you made that track. Hey seriously, this is the kind of music that should be "hit of year 2022", and rotating on radios. The quality is insane.

re-listening because kedbreak started talking about it

the thing i'm really getting on play #54 is that there is an emotional quality to the piece.  so this is more than "oh i'm doing a throwback" to me.

Man this is fantastic! Love the lyrics, and the song really fits them wonderfully.

I am listening to it again. The final epic chorus gives me goosebumps every. single. time.

Wow.  This is an amazing track mate!

Jeepers.

By 2mins I love the way it rolls into that bridge... it's very mature song writing and engineering.  Delay's... backing vox.... bass line moving against the tonic... ending on the relative minor... offfft.  Super impressed.  Great to hear you back on board in 2022.  Will do my best to keep checking in! x

Awesome track! Thanks for the video rundown as well, a lot of stuff to learn :] nice touch doing the guitar feedback, it was totally believable at first, then I had some doubts then I finally saw the truth in the video but I still think it sounds legit and works super well in the track. Nice composition, really smooth!

Coming back to listen to this a month later. So good!
