We Value Feedback

I like fun music, I swear. But I slipped on the frozen streets of Berlin and fell on my butt real hard and apparently that knocked loose some angst*.

Again, M8 instrumental with vocals produced on top and in the box. Turns out fellow Weeklybeater maksy is my good friend who kept his participation a secret from me until this weekend when I came to visit. So special thanks to him for being my recording engineer on this one, and adding his sweet baritone guitar on the last chorus.

The core bass patch is a simple WAVSYNTH saw wave, gentle POST:W2 distortion, with the BANDSTP filter set to 9F (slight bell) and pushing the RES with an LFO to give that screechy distortion.

*Song origin partly mythologized. I did fall on my butt pretty hard tho

Love how the sounds and the vocals are giving retro game vibes. ☺️

Gritty, love it!

yet another banger from LeBernd. Love the bass Sounddesign very much, vocals are also on point. You did it again Leo, hats off to you! smile

Could totally fit the Cyberpunk 2077 soundtrack. And just as I thought "you know what this could use, some backing vocals" you deliver on that, too. Great intuition there!

wow my god, sound design going crazy! the plastic vibe of that bass is absolutely incredible, crazy stuff heart

I REALLY like the way "we value feeeedbaaaaack" is sung, ahahhaha... great stuff!

hell yeah this is slick af
really really awesome job on the production and the baselines

This is cool! That bass patch is pretty gnarly. The background synths hovering in the distance really add to the atmosphere.

There is a vocal layer that is pure fry, and we bitcrushed/samplereduced that layer to enhance the rasp with some nice glittery aliasing. But yeah, it also gives that oldschool arcade voice sound.

The "Machine" choir is a slight nod to "Maschin" by Bilderbuch. The other choir was actually maksys idea, but it also brought up the line "preaching to the choir" - love it when a puzzle starts coming together.

With all the sweet, smiley venom I could muster. An eternally agreeable voice indifferent to a burning world and rupturing society. Glad you dig it!

My best attempt at opening up a space without compromising the in-your-face elements that are always present. Tried to make them do the bare minimum, so I'm glad you still picked up on it.

love these distorted synths, sounds so well mixed too!!

Since you value it so much, have some feedback:
Fun stuff! That frog-like throaty bass sounds really cool.
Again nice work on the vocals, the wide backings are a nice addition.
Slow buildup of extra layering on in the song, love all the different synth sounds bringing little melodic lines.

this is so badass LaBernd!
