Dialhexic (OPL2)

By Snyderman on February 1, 2026 11:16 pm

A busy week, finished another track in a separate music production forum (Dwelling of Duels).

Didn't give this one the time it really needed so it's an early draft that relies very heavily on its source inspiration which is from the main theme for an old GBA/Wii game called Dialhex or Rotohex. Kind of a Tetris-y sort of puzzle game with a very cool chill ambient soundtrack that plays and evolves over 15 minutes or so. Wish I could have done this one justice, but I'll return to the idea at some point.

First time hearing about the game, but the tone and dynamic nature of the soundtrack you're describing seem pretty cool! The bass in the outro was a nice surprise, and the synthbell patterns leading up to it were charming. big_smile

Love the simplicity of this. And yeah that end bit is just begging to continue. You weren’t kidding about sticking close to the source.

Very chill. I like how it grows from the simple start. I looked up the sound track and you were dead on with your inspiration smile

Puzzle games had some great soundtracks! I never played Dialhex, but reminds me a bit of Columns, had that same chill FM bell vibe. Also, I looked up Dialhex after listening to yours, and you nailed the feel. Nice track!
