ERKAELTUNG

It's done. The finish line has been crossed.
In the past couple weeks I kinda pictured myself making some kind of upbeat mega remix of all the pieces - or at least my favorites - from this year. But let's face it - christmas is a time to unwind and spend with family and friends, and I wasn't gonna sacrifice the necessary time. Additionally, I'm a little ill and trying to recover from a tenacious cold (hence the title, which is the german word for that). I took what I learned this year and tried to tap into my inner flow instead, trying to find the nerve that wanted to be struck. And I want to relax and sleep, so I went ambient. And I really like the result!
So here I am, back where I started last year: in cold denmark, on the west coast, close to the beach of the north sea - yes, the north sea can be heard on this track! - cooped up with 9 friends, a ton of bord games and plenty of food and drink, feeling warm, safe, relaxed - and, once I'm done typing this, accomplished. Cheers and congrats to everyone who took this journey with me, and to everyone who commented on my tracks - thank you! Knowing you'd listen made it easier to keep going. Happy new year, everyone!

Absolutely beautiful. I was actually getting pretty emotional while listening to this. Gives me pause for reflection. I feel very grateful, but also sad. The simplicity of this track leaves is like a beautiful hammock, cradling my thoughts, my fears, my future, my past. Lovely way to end the year. heart

Such a graceful quiet way to finish the year with. Those slow synth swells work perfectly against the bubbling drone. The movement is glacial, as the title suggests, and yet it never gets boring. It reminds me of Aphex Twin's "Stone In Focus" in more ways than one!

Cheers for never breaking the streak this year! WB24 is over. We did it! Hope 2025 treats you well.

Very happy this track met you the exact way that it met me. In a way it's the end of a journey, and those are the definition of melancholy to me. I'm glad to have facilitated some space for reflection and cradling. smile

All the best for 2025 for you, too! Thanks for the kind words and lovely imagery. Aphex Twin was of course a major inspiration - #3 is my musical safe space!

Aw man, I'm sorry to hear this nasty cold just won't quit. If it helps at all, the tune you made sounds VERY chill and laid back, exactly how I want to be during this time of year heart

Really pretty soundscape, seriously. This is awesome!

And thanks for sharing your music on WB! It's been awesome to listen to your music, I really like your music, your use of the M8 and the stuff you get out of it! Very cool!

And I'm also very envious of being able to chill in a big cabin close to the beach with a bunch of friends, board games, booze and food, that sounds glorious! I hope y'all have a phenomenal new year!!!
