Snake Charmer

By Kedbreak136 on February 1, 2026 5:57 am

As I was driving, I asded siri to play me some music and it picked up an old Monster Magnet song that had a good old groovy and sleazy vibe. And then it went on with Danzig and some Alice In Chains. This all made me want to pick up my guitar and play some greasy hard rock, the kind with leather pants, big boots, in a dark venue preferably lit with torches, and amplified with a good old Marshall amp.

Here you go, Snake Charmer. Of course I could not go without samples, especially bullwhip samples! I had some fun playing on this one. The drum samples come from the Ilan Rubin package on splice - such a great sound!

This rocks hard and sounds suitably evil.  It sounds like the dark magic students from last week's track channeled all their sorcery into rocking out.

Hahah it's the optional music activities of the Scholomance. Of course they could not help themselves and added summoning of giant snakes etc.

what a jammmmm! Guitar sounding great. And your trademark cinematic sound elements. An expert at making the song be a full immersive experience.

Love the punchiness of the snare. The guitars sound brilliant as well, especially towards the end where they go a bit mental. Bravo.

Whoa, a bona fide hard rock track is not what I expected from you, but it works great. I was ready to hear Rob Zombie start singing at any moment. Very satisfying!

hahh this is awesome! those bull whips that land perfectly on time are so cheezy, only you could pull it off big_smile love em! nice guitar playing!

Rock yeah!

Solid riff en arrière, fun soloing on top.

Super cool whips!

Hail yais!  This rocks! The bass is sick and the guitars are monstrous with the drums.  Ilan Rubin has a loop pack woah yikes noice! This was a fun a ride and love that AIC was part inspiration for this. Well done!

Excellent guitar chops! I can hear 'em clearly: leather pants and boots are kickin' ass in style here! heart

1. Accidentally perfectly transitions into the Scholomance when listened to on the web player. ALBUM ORDER CONFIRMED heart
2. The guitar bits are exactly how you described!! Torches included.
3. Yooooh that breakdown around 2min is something that is both a departure but also apparently a very required one. Bonkers how good that break is before the shredding ascends take off!

heart so good.

Kedbreak kicking down walls with the big rocker boots \m/

Before reading your description, I pictured a Coyote Ugly while listening to your song. Your ability to translate sound into image is really well.

I'm here for it! Great tones, awesome riffs. That rising guitar solo at the end is great.

Hell yes. Holy moly what a perfect mix. Love the duelling riffs in either ear. LOVE that outro.
Absolutely badass. Loved it.

Helllllllll yeah brother. You know I'm going to be a sucker for the heavy metalz. Those riffs were sick!

yeah love that opening guitar riff.

This ^^

What a great story and description of the track, would like to hear more of your guitar skills on future tracks.  Thanks for listing the drum samples, will check them out.

This is so awesome. I also get some old Tea Party The River vibes. Really love the trippy percussion.

Hell yeah dude, this is giving me Dream Theater Train of Thought vibes with the harmonic minor riff.  Badass outro too.

love those whipcracks, and how you can just hear something and capture the sprit and re-envision it, I can imagine the fun you are having as well hehe

hehe Greasy Hard Rock works as a subgenre. Don't get too much grease on that whip, lest it give you the slip! Agree with the above, this track exudes fun. thankyou

Awesome stuff, this rocks!

Oh hell yeah.
This stomps.

This track took me on a journey.. I think a part of me is still wandering!

Yesssssss
Got me pumped, I hear those influences you mentioned. I wanna play this while driving at night.
I picture a badass snake charmer with good ink. Some slithery dancing in the area.
Ah, really, its a metaphorical thing. Not real snakes being charmed. It's becoming clear here, and I like it.
I'm transported back the Devil's Point in Portland Oregon. Late nights. Charming of metaphorical snakes.
Music is time travel.

This is so good, this deserves the black painted, styrofoam rock wall in the background.

Ah if only I could sing like that or at a decent singer available! Thank you for your comment.

Maybe i should dust off the guitar and bass more. I like the energy I can get from a live instrument vs always programming them.

Bullwhips have just a way to pull one into a cinematic scene.

Percussions + guitars, the recipe of a good evening.

Nice!

You are rocking my friend.
