Great acoustic sound on this one. I like the contrast between the more more propulsive verses and the more flowing feel of the chorus. Some nice vocal harmonies also.
Delightful. I love the intimate space on this track. Also emergency in the basement kinda terrifying for my basement cuz we have had those and they were definitely mine to deal with but I still love this song ![]()
Super agree with neon liminal here. The intimate feeling is super nice.
Also, damn, emergency in the basement" sounds like it could be "some gnarly stuff... Hahahaha...
The close instruments are so well recorded!
I'm trying not to write "this sounds like X!" In comments this year, but, damn, this is putting me back in 2004 when I went through a big Belle and Sebastian / Camera Obscura phase.
Lofi but just perfectly formed.
I like how it feels the guitar is right there, that you're sitting just in front. That dry sound, very raw is just perfect. Really great production. And great singing, I love these pop gems you share every week with us. This level of talent is disgusting, really.
nice! super cool dreamy sequence in the B part. nice bass hook, underutilized, as it should be.
so sparse the early section, kinda scary to leave so much space.
I really like the panning of the guitar and bass.
Great intimate production.
Really leans into the staccato in the verse and then the B section comes in like a sigh.
Absolutely love the lyrics as well, it's one of those things that gives you enough of a story to start your mind spinning with what might be happening.
Super impressed.
Lovely vocal harmonies. I love the the guitar parts too. And so many possible emergencies in a basement ... what is happening down there!?
I love how the bass, guitar and drums are unified on the same hits. The guitars sound immaculate and oof those vocal harmonies on the chorus are a much needed escape for me.
"your emergency is not mine" ![]()
Great work again. I like the orchestration, vocal layers are great as always.
Good stuff.
running out of superlatives. enjoyed the hell out of this. you both sound great together and I think its the first time I heard you go that high. pulled it off! lovely work
Beautiful song jwh! The restraint on the snare hits stands out to me as a really neat touch in particular. And those vocal harmonies are gorgeous.
Beautiful piece, loving the production on this one. Sweet balance between the drive in the verses and the wide open choral parts in the chorus.
I just hope it's not about pooping your pants.
Wow! Sounded huge yet delicate. Loving the production, you really gave justice to the acoustic sounds, everything sounds true to source. Getting a bit of Mount Eerie vibes off it!
Uh oh, what's happening the basement! Oh the basement. Good rhyme, self-effacement. Is it time I"m wondering? Epic last line! Indeed! yeah love the dreamier part B, cool difference in the parts.
Some really nice panning vocal effects, sounds so huge on headphones, I think that last line is probably what a mutter under my breath at work all the time.
This is great. Adore those vocal harmonies around thew 2 minute mark
haha, this quote:
I just hope it's not about pooping your pants.
combined with this gif:
is cracking me up
i appreciate the concern! and while i think it's best to leave interpretation up to the listener, i will just say that thankfully this time it was *not* that kinda of emergency ![]()
thank y'all so very much for listening and sharing your thoughts. it truly means a lot to me
hope you made it through the week all right and avoided any emergencies, basement or otherwise.
