we recognize your fruit
it's rotting on the ground
smell it in the vents
the clanging empty sound
inherited your loss
the cycle of your fears
smell it on your breath
and trace it in your tears
mountains of hurt
hand over hand
lifting the skirt
to the veil of your plan
you're dreaming again
triggering the change
and climbing past the trauma
a cityscape in blue
we knew there could be more
a wild field of flowers
buried in the sea
i see it in your eyes
the miracle is free
mountains of hurt
hand over hand
lifting the skirt
to the veil of your plan
the temple of love
isn't here anymore
building a bridge
to the edge of the door
you're dreaming again
i started writing these lyrics last sunday, and thankfully everything came together the following day. big thanks to Cursory for turning around his gorgeous contributions so quickly. i highly recommend checking out his Weekly Beats if you haven't already.
Yaaay thanks for letting me join in on this one. Such a lovely song you've written
(>▽<) and the bop train continues... such a lovely track. Can't wait for the album. Also as soon as I heard the slide guitar I was like... "Cursory??"

Beautiful song! Really like the chord progression, the slide guitar really helps to move it along. Everything plays really well together. Don’t really understand how you can put out this quality of this song every week, very impressive!

Swoon. No words. Beautiful. A few words apparently.
Also wasn't ready for those notes at 2:55. Sounds silly I know but they stood out just enough to kill me im there most beautiful way.
More than a few words apparently! Loved it.

"letting" haha! what a joy it was to import your tracks, put on the headphones, and hit play.
i know i said it elsewhere, but it means so much to me that you would take time to work on this with such a small window. you have a real gift for finding tasty parts that elevate a song, and it was an honor to have you work your magic on one of mine.
THANK YOU

Another nice one and a great collab. The slide guitar almost has a pedal steel feel to it. Really nails the comfy cozy vibe you're always so good at creating.

really appreciate that. as tough as these last few years have been, i've also been healing a lot & finding quiet in myself. keeping the antennae out, trying to stay out of my own way. i had some changes at my day job too that have allowed me more space for creativity. hopefully the faucet will stay open! and if not, there are still several songs to rescue from (as Cursory put it) "unfinished song purgatory"

Cursory, Josh, congratulations! This is a fantastic collab and frankly I'm a little jealous
The track is beautiful, the lyrics are touching (that "building a bridge to the edge of the door" line, man!)
The miracle is free, indeed.
