I love how your work always makes me feel like I've fallen either back into my youth or into an indy film. it's such a lovely feeling.

Always sweet when an old WIP finally makes it across the finish line. 😊 This one feels so visceral - you’ve got me feeling nostalgic for an ice cream parlor performance I never got to see, but you describe the scene with so much detail that it almost feels like a memory. Super cool and a real testament to your power as a songwriter!

heart

Just beautiful. Pure nostalgia heart and the guitar and vocals just wrap everything in a warm blanket. Amazing.

great

Yep, that's crying material over here (in a good way)

Ooof the vocal harmonies in this are so lush.  Love how deep the bass sounds when it comes in too.  I felt like I was there with the heartfelt lyrics that paint such a vivid picture.  Bravo!

Glad you picked this one back up! Excellent mixing and song writing

beautiful! love the pacing and harmonies... can I ask if the harmonies were tracked or live? listening, it feels like I'm in the room with y'all, really nice.

Damn dude... awesome track... great mix... I love sparrows on harmony too, it just gives it such a peaceful energy.  Also it made me think of Stranger, by The Presidents of The United States of America... which I'm never gonna be mad about.

Can I say something? I think y'all are the absolute cutest. This is lovely. Thank you for sharing something so intimate with us. Just absolutely lovely, Peace, friend ❤️

Beautiful! What a great tribute to friendship!

The harmonies in this are crazy! Very well done

really cool and emotional and fun story! I like how you went from simple bassline to the complex harmonies and back again.

The imagery of ice cream parlors and roller skating rinks instantly transports me back to a more innocent time.  The relative spareness of the arrangement really works in its favor as it makes the "bigger" moments hit all the harder. My favorite parts were the vocal harmonies near the end and the way "strawberry cream" was delivered.

It is very hard to make a sparse track like that and make it work. Great harmonies, great sound, giving space the respect it needs and letting it ring in the space and the mind. Beautifully crafted, perfect music box. This is precious and has a sense of classic pop. You sir are a marvel.

got a perfectly sweet nostalgic feel to it, especially love how you harmonize over 'strawberry cream', silky smooth delivery heart

it's so pretty, it's crazy

So nice, love the stripper back nature of all your tunes this year. Great harmonies, great mix and here’s to recycling. I have a few more in my pocket to release as well.

This brings me back to a parallell reality of my past, hanging out in that ice cream parlor. Such a sweet vibe.

damn. this is my favorite song ever on weekly beats. i'm drowning in waves of nostalgia. i know i have at least one picture of me and many others watching you and the rest of the productions in that coffee shop. in fact, i think it was a time skb played with you guys. if i find it, i'll send it to you. heart heart heart

also, the chord progression is the exact same as a Shanghais song. the waves of nostalgia have swept me out to sea.

These lyrics are beautiful. They tell such a vivid story without any extra words required. This is such a wonderful wonderful piece heart

I really enjoyed how the piece gradually filled out with other parts too. It felt like the way all the little memories all gradually come together and paint the whole picture.

Great mix, lots of space. Acoustic guitars sounds awesome, beautiful vocal harmonies and storytelling.

Take care!

Oh man that first line, I'm there in my own memories now, of places, back in the day indeed.
Sweetness. And now you're both singing, I'm gonna melt. This is so sweet. I appreciate the feels.

This is amazing!

It's always so cool to see old ideas come to life. And also, while you obviously nailed this shit, I can't help but wanting to hear this in like a mid-west emo type arrangement.

Anyhow, this is for sure joining my rotation of daily listening!

I love how your tracks have this layered simplicity to them. Such a lovely basic feel, but I can hear the amount of layering going on. Textured and deep. Absolutely love your work.

Nice having some tracks on backup hey!  A lovely ditty.  Always enjoy the vocals.

What a joy to listen to this, love how it feels and sounds like you are just playing outside in the sun under the shade of a tree, people pass by, but you don't register them, this is for you and your best buddy.

I couldn't have said it any better.

thank you, cody. i'm so glad it felt like that - that's a big part of what i hope to capture when recording.
for this one i started by recording an acoustic guitar (tuned down to C) and my main vocal live. then i layered everything else to that. the harmonies were me singing, but i did the thing for a couple of them where i slow down the rate and record at a slightly lower pitch. then when i bring it back up to speed my harmony has a little sped up quality (which sometimes sounds like emily!).

Beautiful. The vocals are awesome. I wonder how you made Crosby Stills and Nash appear.
