Worry and Hope

By jegasus on November 10, 2024 10:47 pm

Howdy, folks!

I will admit that this past week was, putting it very lightly, fucking rough. When I woke up on Wednesday morning, it took me a while to digest what had just happened. It only really hit me closer to the end of the day in the midst of a few crying fits. The fact that I'm a non-citizen living in the USA might give you a clue as to why. Sadly, this country has chosen to go down a route that, while not surprising to me anymore, is still deeply depressing.

I didn't intend to imbue the song with this intense energy, but I think it kind of happened anyways. Thankfully, the song came out with a fun balance of worry and hope which I think is kind of appropriate for the situation right now. I mean I'll be honest, hope is fresh out of stock at my department store, but still, I know it's something I'll need to have a lot of on hand pretty soon, hahahaha....

Please take care of yourself and your loved ones, help build community and safe spaces, and talk to people around you. Together we can get through this nonsense. We've done it before and we'll do it again.

Peace, y'all.

illusion of gaia alternate track for the sea cliff town.  I like it.

Despite what you said about this tune, It sounds really cheerful and playful to me! I especially like the percussive sounds and patterns that you used. 🎶

Yeah, I'm in Canada and it's tough, so I can only imagine. Your song channels that energy well though ... music is probably the best outlet imo. Very cool percussion work and sound design. You're diggin' the piano recently and I love it too! Good luck down there!

Yeah, this week has sucked. I feel like parent looking at a child that screwed up...not mad per se, just deeply disappointed because I know we can do better.  I can't even imagine the additional layers of tension you have. Peace and love to you, my friend.

In spite of all that....I agree with moloko, this is a playful and fun track smile There's tension there in the piano, but when that beat drops...oh yeah. Percussion and the synth line at :50 is great.

We'll get through it. We've done it before.

Fun blend of sounds in this one, nice work!
Sending best wishes to you!

The bass sometimes gives off a circus vibes, which considering what's going on over there, seems only fitting.

I dig this, feels like the beats are close to broken but still not falling apart.  Great sequencing (if that's what it's call on a m8) as well.  Take care of yourself, you're not alone - fucking rough week though for you all.

Love the percussion and deep kicks in this.  With the playful melody it gave me some aphex twin vibes too.  It was def a brutal week but yes indeed we shall get through this (again).  Keep on keepin' on! \m/

big love to you, Jeg  heart
thank you for the buoyancy this week and throughout the year
