Castle Gate

Howdy, partners!

First of all, thanks so much for the positive reception of last week's submission. I think it might be one of my favorite WB tunes I've made, definitely in the top 5. Anyways, thanks so much for y'all's kindness, I really appreciate it heart

Sadly, this week's submission is a low effort one. Even though I've had quite a bit of free time this week due to crappy circumstances (I'll get to that in a bit), I spent almost ALL of it playing Baldur's Gage 3. I'M SO CLOSE GUYS, JUST SIXTY MORE HOURS AND I'LL BE DONE. Hahahahaha... But since I've been playing a lot of BG3, fantasy settings have taken up a lot of space in my brain meats, so when I sat down my couch to make something random, this is what came up: a little chiptune song that feels like it goes with a character arriving at the gates of some haunted castle.

I'm 90% sure that this sounds A LOT like another tune I wrote, but I can't quite remember which one. Meh, someday it'll come to me.

This was all done on the Dirtywave M8 using internal synth engines with instruments I built up from scratch - all WAVSYNTH and MACROSYN. Well, there is one sample, but that's kinda not really part of the song itself, hahahahah (just listen till the very end).

BTW, the crummy situation that led to the free time is that, as soon as we got home form Portugal, my wife tested positive for covid and I did not. So we've been kinda isolating from each other at home and not doing much outside. The trip was phenomenal, but this was a truly crappy way to end it, hahahaha... Thankfully she's doing well - no more symptoms or anything. I took tests every day since we landed and, somehow, MAGICALLY, never caught it. That didn't stop me from feeling like crap for three days after landing back in Texas, I'll tell you that! Hahahahaha...

Anyways, that's enough of me rambling. Now let me go back to being a couch blob and playing several hours of BG3 nonstop.

Hahahahah! Yes!!! I looked at the progress bar as the song was ending and I thought it looked like there might be a surprise waiting there! Hahaha! Oh and no better way to isolate than with a good game!

Not every week can be high effort! I like this one, def feels like a game battle scene track. I also run into that feeling of, "did I make this or something similar before?" haha.
Glad your wife is on the up and up and you've missed the covid bug.

Oh man, I want to play the NES game this is from! Totally see an 8bit knight bouncing around in my head with lots of torchlight. Also, that background “boom” noise is great. Fun track!

May not be the highest effort, but effectively captures that epic video game feeling.  Hope your wife's doing better and that you continue to avoid catching the covies.

This was a really cool track! I liked the tension inducing sound of it. The crashes at the end were a nice touch!

enjoyed, low effort or not!
glad to hear you are both feeling ok, may it continue  heart

Love the spooky melody on the horizon feels.  With the percussion it feels like I'm about to descend into a dungeon yikes  Haven't played BG3 yet but def know the excitement of having a new game take over the brains smile  Hope you both feel better soon altogether!
