TERURA

By mukti on August 11, 2024 6:14 pm

Originally started with some high pitched synth leads, but then started to like the darker backing bass, and built a song from that instead. Tried to keep it dark with lots of bassy instruments, some deep mumbling vocals, and clearer choir vocals to add to the evil vibe this had going. Since there was so much bass, I brought back a higher pitched buzzing synth to break it up a bit and added a few snare hits. I ended up spending a lot of time on some of the wobbly and weird effects in the background and probably could have made the leads a bit better, but I do like how this one turned out.

Any feedback is appreciated!

Since I was trying to go for a dark and evil vibe, I looked for a few words to use as a track name that would portray that. Many Esperanto words meaning evil/bad/dark looked and felt kind of lacking. Ultimately I went with TERURA, which is an Esperanto word meaning "Terrible."

I dig the horror genre vibe of this. Really nice mix of sounds

DARK! Sounds like whispers in the background. That higher pitched buzzing synth def adds a cool layer. This sounds like a cinematic sound track for someone being hunted in fog blanketed forest.

Great textures! Love the way the kick marches through it all. Very suspenseful.

Thanks! I was almost thinking "alien language that you can't understand" for the weird vocal stuff. Thinking that + being chased through a forest, is a perfect visualization of the sound!

Thanks! I almost called it a march or war theme when I just had the kick and the choir 😅

Sick textures and atmosphere. Nice driving kick and bass too. Would be sick soundtrack for a sci-fi film. I dig!
