scratch on them drums

By Jason Nijjer on November 3, 2024 6:40 pm

Only had a couple hours this week to put something down, so stuck to the usual suspects of chopping some drums into one shots and programming a new beat, put down some lofi soft synths and add some scratches and vocal chops.

This works perfectly for something you spent just a couple of hours in. The chopping is tight, the vocals are evocative, and we even get some good scratch. The piano adds a layer of nostalgia to the track. That just works.

Excellent job in such a short time. I like the sound of your drumset. The  piano and synth are sweet and calming.

Always a fan of your beats and grooves.  The synths in this sound so calming and peaceful in contrast to the big beat feel of the drums.  Gave me visions of a dj scratchin and a spinnin as everything around them goes in time lapsed motion.  Well done!

Well that title caught me! Gotta scratch them drums no doubt. I love that you can through this down in a few hours, good beat and chops here!

really great feel and mood, Jason

This is such a chill and nostalgic vibe. The pads and bass and piano create a wonderful calming bed in which you've got this great improv with the scratching and the vocals, really awesome track.

Quite beautiful melancholic piano melody. Listening to this one on a quiet Sunday afternoon. Very evocative and emotional... I love this one!
