Tried to upload this last week but didn’t realize the deadline was 5pm my time. Facepalm emoji.

Anyways, this is a song that’s been tumbling around for a while in various formations, but weekly beats is what got me to finally write some verses and commit to an arrangement.
Plus, it’s been so fun to explore mixing and layering parts in a new way.

This song is a little bit about being a “professional musician” living out of my car for a year and not exactly having a place to call home, a little about reconnecting with my homeless dad and wondering what it would be like for him to change his life around after living that way for so long — if he ever even wanted to, and a little about coming to terms with the things I’ve left behind to chase the new I want to live.

It turns out change is hard, and songwriting can be harder — but it feels good to finish this one. Thanks for listening.
